Something Old, Something New, Something Themed, Something Blue. Themed weddings are the way of the noughties.
Combining the words “themed” and “weddings” used to conjure up images of Elvis wannabes and Star Trek aficionados queuing up at Vegas chapels.
Times are changing, however. The summer at
Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas launched in style with a bold and elaborate Cirque du Soleil–themed wedding. Diners were entertained by aerial dancers suspended above the tables on silk rope and delighted by menus made of chocolate. Since then, the bar has been raised again at the Las Vegas Hotel with an all-singing, all-dancing Hollywood glamour wedding. Featuring a soft ivory and white colour scheme, suspended floral centerpieces and walls draped in fabric, the look was both elegant and romantic. Plenty of razzle dazzle was provided by a 12-piece band and a Frank Sinatra impersonator.
Sometimes location itself provides the inspiration, as is the case at
Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia . Their recent city-themed wedding was styled by a superlative backdrop of the cityscape, complemented by a pretzel bar and Ben Franklin impersonators. At the unabashedly modern
Four Seasons Hotel Beirut , spectacular views of the new marina and cityscape have offered the definitive setting for recent 007- and Chanel-themed weddings.
Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle offers something altogether more far flung. The Thai jungle theme is both romantic and exotic, with the bride arriving at the ceremony on elephant back, and departing as lucky paper lanterns are lit and disappear into the night sky.
Perfect for a woodland wedding theme,
Four Seasons Hotel Palo Alto’s Country Cabin wedding is designed to bring the outside in. The venue can be decorated with logs and moss, while chalk nametags adorn the tables and the flowers are willfully wild.
As with anything themed, the success is in the detail. Renowned for their attention to detail,
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is perfectly placed to deliver the definitive themed wedding, whatever the style. Got a theme in mind? Let us know on our
