About Eric Essix
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Eric Essix draws his musical inspiration from his southern roots and childhood influences including Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery and Jimi Hendrix. His last three albums, Southbound, Somewhere in Alabama and, most recently, Birmingham, explore the soul, R&B, gospel and country music prevalent in the south. Released in spring 2009, Birmingham spent many weeks at the top of the jazz charts, with hits such as “Shuttlesworth Drive” and “Birmingham.”
