A graduate of the University of Sto. Tomas, Manila Philippines – Tourism, Chandarella first became involved in the spa industry more than a dozen years ago and her passion just kept growing and growing over the years. Fascinated by spa philosophy in general, she joined Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa in 2001 as Spa Receptionist, moving on six years later to Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru as Assistant Spa Manager.
“The Spa industry allows me to grow personally and professionally yet provides a deeper sense of achievement,” says Chandarella. “It gives me the opportunity time to time to witness the healing power of touch and connection to oneself through guest experience. It allows me also to better understand and live a lifestyle of balance.”
Chandarella moved to the Middle East in 2007, becoming Spa Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano. In 2009 she joined Four Seasons Hotel Beirut as Spa Manager and two years later she took up a position as Spa Director at Four Seasons Resorts Chiang Mai, Thailand, her most recent position prior to joining Four Seasons at the new Bahrain Bay property in August 2014.
“Over the years, the Middle East consistently retains its charm and growth most evidently in the spa industry. The Kingdom of Bahrain in particular is the hub for the spa industry to develop, evolve and become part of a lifestyle promoting healthy living and balance. Being part of this growth is such an exciting and learning experience that I am truly looking forward to,” she comments.
An eternal optimist and always seeking new opportunities to learn, Chandarella’s life philosophy spans around her belief in "connecting to guests in a way that they leave with memories to cherish for a lifetime." Having worked in five different Four Seasons locations both in the Middle East and Asia Pacific, she learned that every spa has its unique operational challenges that are actually opening opportunities for growth.
“We would like to create an exemplary Spa experience that reflects traditional healing therapies and those that are new in the region to promote a deeper sense of connection to guests using only the highest quality sourced products.”
Envisioned as the most dazzling urban spa in the city, The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay crowns the Hotel with the most spectacular panoramic views over the bay and the Manama skyline beyond. In her capacity as Spa Director, Chandarella is responsible for the seventeen treatment roomed Spa, a women-only relaxation lounge and café, two cutting edge fitness centres equipped with Life Fitness cardio machines - one for women and one unisex - yoga and spinning studios, Turkish hammam, sauna, whirlpool and relaxation area, a women’s beauty salon, a men’s barber shop and a Spa boutique.
