Italian Cuisine Meets Turkish Wine at
Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus. Discover Turkey with a different local winery every two months at Aqua.
First guest winery of the season is Doluca, one of the oldest winemakers of Turkey. During the months of October and November, guests will savour prestigious Doluca wines paired up with Aqua’s fall menu both at lunch and dinner, with tips from the sommelier. They will have the opportunity to order these wines by the glass, including the premium ones.
Inspired by the beautiful autumn scenery of Bosphorus, Aqua offers dishes emphasizing the seasonal and local tastes of Mediterranean coasts. Chef di Cucina Luca De Astis takes his guests region to region with his bright-style Italian cooking and Aqua’s sommelier Semih Tunay’s wine-pairing turns this experience into an epicurean feast.
There is more than one good reason to taste local wine when in Istanbul. Good wine has been produced in Turkey since Neolithic Hittite times, and still is. Turkey offers an array of different wines and styles, including intriguing domestic varieties. Several of Anatolia's climatic regions, including the Marmara and Aegean, the East and the Southeast, some with volcanic soil (such as Cappadocia), are suitable for producing wine grapes.
