Experience a Taste of Malaysia with Cooking Class and Junior Masterchef Experience

April 15, 2015,
Langkawi, Malaysia

For guests visiting Langkawi and seeking a slightly more stimulating experience, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi is offering new and exciting culinary activities for everyone to try.

Against the backdrop of the Andaman Sea, guests can discover the secrets of Malaysia’s eclectic cuisine and traditional cooking techniques, guided by world-class chefs. Found in either the Serai Pavilion or Ikan-Ikan restaurants, the Resort offers Malaysian cooking classes for adults, or, and for the younger generation, the Junior Masterchef Experience.

The Malaysian Cooking Class

Guests will get hands-on experience, being taught how to prepare three traditional dishes such as chicken satay, prawn gulai, and mango pudding. With step-by-step instructions, Chef Adee himself shares his invaluable preparation techniques, including the trick we all want to know - how to chop onions and chillies without tears - followed by tasting the finished product.

Junior Masterchef Experience

For budding culinarians aged between eight and twelve, Chef Mat Nor, who uses child-friendly methods, is on hand to demonstrate how to create the same dishes as the adults. All the ingredients are prepared beforehand, leaving the up-and-coming chefs to focus on the colourful and vibrant ingredients. To put their new skills into practice, all participants are given a full set of recipes to take home, and to reward them for their hard work, they are presented with an apron souvenir and a "Junior Masterchef" certificate.
