Maldives Private Island at Voavah, Baa Atoll, Republic of Maldives

Four Seasons first private island, Voavah, has been recognised as a winner in Robb Report’s 29th annual Best of the Best Awards in the Journeys category on Exclusive-Use Resorts.

Commenting on the selection process, Brett Anderson, Robb Report’s editor in chief, said “Choosing among the most exceptional products, services, designs and destinations to be found anywhere in the world is certainly no mean task for the editorial staff. The process began a year ago, and in the end our final decisions are guided not only by our obsessive passion for absolute quality - that’s a given - but also by the people, places and creations that speak to our imaginations in a language uniquely their own.”

Truly capturing the imagination, Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah takes experiential travel to new, exclusive extremes.  A five-acre (two hectare) tropical idyll in the Maldives' only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, it offers limitless island living to a single group booking at a time – a place for couples, families or friends to retreat, explore, connect, celebrate - and dream with their eyes open.

“It’s a real honour to be recognised by Robb Report just six months after opening,” comments Regional Vice President Armando Kraenzlin. “Voavah is all about giving guests an elevated sense of privacy and enrichment: a place to call their own, drop their boundaries and expand their horizons, guided by a strong connection to the island's marine and cultural UNESCO wonders.”

A 35-minute seaplane flight from Malé, Voavah is staffed by a dedicated team of 28 – tailored to the specific interests and requirements of the group in residence at any one time. Three different accommodation locations house seven bedrooms, arranged around a central Beach House, dive centre, swimming pools, water sports centre, overwater Ocean of Consciousness Spa, plus bespoke dining options for every meal.

The island also comes with its own a 62-foot (18.9 metre) private luxury yacht, Voavah Summer, giving 24-hour access to the island’s own separate picnic island Baathala, adjacent sandbank, plus a wealth of manta ray and whale shark hotspots in the renowned local waters of the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Complete with its own pod of resident dolphins, Voavah wows groups from multi-generational families to the most seclusion-seeking couples, with no limit on the experiences available. “If guests want to chase empty surf breaks all day or party all night with big name acts from around the world, we’ll make it happen,” comments Kraenzlin. “The only limit is their imagination.”
