World-renowned artist Antonio Dominguez de Haro will exhibit new canvases during Art Basel Miami at Four Seasons Hotel Miami. The exhibit, which will feature 17 magnificent underwater paintings, including Dominguez de Haro’s latest works, will complement the Hotel’s existing multi-million-dollar art collection.  The exhibition will take place in the 14-Thirty-Five Lounge on the 7th floor, and will be open to the public from November 30 to December 6, 2015.

“It is with great pleasure that I am bringing my art to the US during Art Basel Miami,” states Dominguez de Haro.  “Four Seasons Hotel Miami is an ideal setting to showcase my work, which is derived from my scuba diving journeys into the bottom of the sea as well as my personal sojourn into the depths of my own psyche.”

“Four Seasons is thrilled to sponsor such a revered and talented artist,” says Dan Normandin, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Miami.  “Our location in the Brickell entertainment and dining district, near Downtown Miami, allows for visitors to escape the hustle of South Beach while still experiencing all that Art Basel Miami has to offer.”

Heralded as a national treasure of Spain, with an avenue and a museum named for him in Granada, the 87-year old artist has spent more than 70 years capturing and painting the beauty and lyricism of the flora and fauna of the deep seas – giving a fantastical glimpse into the mysterious world under water at a time when it was not as accessible as it is today.  Painting from a visual and sense-oriented snapshot of the marine life he observed, Dominguez de Haro's renditions are unique, layered with memory and imagination.

Most recently, Dominguez de Haro’s paintings have emerged with a more intense vision tempered by compassion and sensitivity – this time with a lens on his interior life.  Profoundly affected by a life-altering event, Dominguez de Haro delved into the majestic seas and oceans and renders that world with a meticulous and holistic approach to painting, inspiring conservation of the earth and oceans through his work.

The exhibition which will be open to the public from November 30 to December 6, is the first time in 30 years that Dominguez de Haro’s work is showcased in the United States, and the first ever in Miami.

Rates at Four Seasons Hotel Miami start from USD 589 per night during the week of Art Basel Miami with limited availability.  For reservations, call 305 358 3535 or book online.

About Antonio Dominguez de Haro

Antonio Dominguez de Haro (May 14, 1928 -) is a Spanish painter born in Almuñécar, Granada, Spain, where he currently works and resides. Widely esteemed for his pioneering and expressive paintings of underwater landscapes, Dominguez de Haro has been painting for more than 70 years.  At the young age of 16 years, he had his first exhibition of 66 works that captured the richness and mystery of marine life and fauna.  Since then, Dominguez de Haro has had more than 50 exhibitions all over the world and his work is included in distinguished collections throughout Europe. Always drawn to the water, Dominguez de Haro became a diver so that he could record and share with others what he saw, with meticulous renditions layered with memory and imagination - creating works that have captivated collectors and the public for decades.  When an accident left him unable to dive any longer, Dominguez de Haro looked into his own mind, producing work of a more introspective nature, communicating the intense "inner life" we all have. Considered a national treasure of Spain and a master painter, Dominguez de Haro has an avenue and museum named after him in his native Spain.
