Hawaii, Oahu, U.S.A.

Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, located on Hawaii’s rugged leeward coast, will host "Back to our Roots" on Global Wellness Day, a complimentary day of curated wellness programs with a focus on spa, fitness and culinary on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

Celebrated annually by Four Seasons Resorts around the world, Global Wellness Day is an international initiative that takes place on the 2nd Saturday of June, shining a light on the importance of wellness and encompassing everything from exercise and beauty treatments to spiritual teachings and the harmony between body and spirit.  Guests of the Resort, along with the community, are invited to say yes to Global Wellness Day and participate in this worldwide initiative.

Back to our Roots Global Wellness Day highlights include:

  • 7:00-8:00 am – Greet the day at the "Place of Joy" with Hatha yoga on the Resort's beautiful ocean front lawn.
  • 8:00–10:00 am  – Head to La Hiki Kitchen and enjoy a Back to our Roots Breakfast Buffet. Nurture the mind, body and soul with the powers of poi, a Hawaiian staple for thousands of years. In addition to fresh mango, lychee and papaya, enjoy a gluten free station, acai bowls with pa`i`ai (pounded taro), and a delicious fresh fruit smoothie bar. Local taro farmer Anthony from Ka'onohi Poi will demonstrate poi pounding at La Hiki Kitchen from 8:00 to 8:30 am. Kan’onohi lo'i is located in the ili of Ka'onohi, the Ahupua'a of Kalau'ao, in the moku of Ewa and the moku puni of Oahu. The farm exists to sustain the family and to provide fresh organic native food and produce to the market and community.
  • 10:00-11:00 am – Learn the art of traditional lomilomi massage with Bronson Salazar, lead therapist at Four Seasons award-winning Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre. Bronson demonstrates the principles and techniques of indigenous healing passed down to him by his grandmother in one of the Resort’s traditional Hawaiian healing hales.
  • 11:00 am – 12:00 noon – Restore the spirit with a blessing and meditation at Pokahu Point. Auntie Nettie Tiffany, Kahu at Lanikuhonua, will offer a traditional Hawaiian blessing to share the special mana of the area, historically a healing retreat for Hawaiian royalty. Guests are invited to linger for personal meditation or walk to the beach and wade for a Hawaiian ocean cleansing ritual of mind, body and spirit.

Back to our Roots Global Wellness Day programming invites guests and community to be well in paradise with authentic, ancient and innovative healing practices and the unique opportunity to explore Hawaii’s newest luxury spa offerings.

Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre features four distinct levels with indoor and outdoor spaces featuring separate men’s and women’s floors, 16 indoor treatment rooms, three outdoor muliwai garden hales, a creative keiki menu, a stylish men’s barbershop, Kristen Wood Lash Studio, Billy Yamaguchi Salon, roof top fitness club and cardio centre and a world-class tennis centre managed by legendary pro Jim Courier.

Try a Hydrafacial, enjoy a selection of locally-made spa products by Ola, such as passion fruit, coconut and lemongrass ginger, or change the approach to skin care with Sodashi, the 100 percent organic skincare line endorsed by Gwyneth Paltrow.

Sodashi, which in Sanskrit translates to wholeness, purity and radiance, embraces the mind, body and spirit of each person rather than merely the skin. This holistic approach melds perfectly with Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre; not a quick over-the-counter purchase, but a truly holistic appraisal and solution to an individual’s needs.

On Global Wellness Day, guests booking a Hanohano Lomilomi massage at Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre will receive a special price of USD 149 on a 50 minute treatment or USD 199 on an 80 minute treatment. All Spa guests will be served mamaki, a refreshing native Hawaiian herbal tea traditionally used to lower blood pressure and cholesterol and cleanse toxins from the blood.

To make a reservation, or to sign up in advance for the complimentary program, contact Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre or the Concierge Desk at 679 0079.
