History: Constructed as a prison from 1918 to 1919, with historic features best preserved in the southwest wing, which houses the lobby, bar and reception area; converted to a Four Seasons hotel in 1996; the hotel entered a new era reopening in 2022 after a hotelwide renovation

Location: Surrounded by breath-taking views of the Hagia Sophia Mosque, the Blue Mosque, and the Marmara Sea, the Hotel offers a quintessential location for exploring Istanbul’s deep heritage

Kurna Spa

Design Aesthetic:

  • Kurna SPA is a beautifully crafted, bijou space that offers guests the opportunity to try an authentic hammam experience alongside individual treatment rooms, change facilities, and steam and sauna rooms for both mixed and same-sex use
  • Traditional stone kurna have been sourced lending Turkish authenticity to the design while Arabescato marble lightens the impression of the space
  • Bespoke joinery, lighting, and mirrors have been designed and crafted by Turkish artisans to complete the interior decoration of the space
