Kala Serves Up an Egyptian Favourite Just the Way You Like It

Foul medames is a delicacy beloved by Egyptians since ancient times. Also known simply as foul (or fūl or fool) and pronounced to rhyme with “cool,” the dish is an enticing concoction of stewed dried beans mixed with vegetable oil, cumin, chopped parsley, onion, garlic, and lemon juice (plus your choice of spicy condiments) and is a go-to meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Now, Kala Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano, Egypt elevates this street-food favourite to gourmet levels with its very own Foul Cart. The cart offers food-savvy guests the chance to create their own foul, with a little help from the Hotel’s chef.
