Millions of young people attend summer camp every year, but how many will get to visit a real volcano, see monkeys up close, work on surfing, singing and dancing skills pura vida style ("pure life"), help paint a school in Guanacaste via the Costa Rican resort’s Growing Together volunteer program or learn how to cook authentic Costa Rican dishes as part of their camp experience? Kids ages 5-12 are invited to join in fun adventures like these at Camp Papagayo, offered for the first time during summer 2012 at five-star Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo.

While young guests are enjoying Camp Papagayo, parents will have time to enjoy a round of golf at the signature Arnold Palmer golf course, relax with a bamboo massage at the award-winning resort Spa or experience a spectacular sunset cruise on the Pacific Ocean making for a great Costa Rica family vacation. The luxury resort also features complimentary cooking classes for adults, two golden sand beaches and five tennis courts including an all-new grass court.

“Summer camp is one of those amazing life experiences people remember for the rest of their lives,” says Robin Flanz, director of marketing, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica. “Our inaugural Camp Papagayo will offer kids and adults a unique and authentic experience they will be talking about for years to come. The program offers a perfect balance of independent fun and discovery for kids in a safe environment and some time built in for families to bond and enjoy Costa Rica.”

Campers will be divided into age groups 5-8 and 9-12 for daily activities and will receive fun awards reflecting the local Costa Rican culture for accomplishments during their time at Camp Papagayo. The kids summer camp is offered at no extra charge for guests staying at Four Seasons during the dates offered. Families can take advantage of special values available during the dates camp is offered including the Experience More Resort Credit (up to USD 500.00 daily), Stay Longer - Fifth Night Free or Villa Getaway - Sixth and Seventh Night Free offers.
