Discover Dublin – Off the Beaten Track. This bespoke cultural three-night package will help you scratch the surface of Dublin, and you’ll find more than just the Book of Kells.

Let Four Seasons Hotel Dublin help you to discover the hidden treasures of this ancient and modern capital city. Offering sights and sounds of Dublin rarely seen, guests will be treated to the very best in cultural activities that the city has to offer:

  • Enjoy a guided walking tour of Dublin. Retrace the footsteps of literary greats such as Joyce, Wilde and Beckett. Explore unseen Dublin, such as the Jewish Quarter, including the Portobello district where Chaim Herzog, first president of Israel, was brought up. Relive the famous 1916 Easter Rising through a vivid walking tour of the city.
  • Visit world-class galleries such as the painstakingly recreated Francis Bacon studio in the Hugh Lane Gallery, or the National Gallery, which features Irish and European art such as Caravaggio’s Taking of Christ, 1602.
  • Enjoy a world-class performance at the historic Gate Theatre, a landmark building for over 200 years and established as a theatre in 1928 (recent visiting stars of the theatre have included Ralph Fiennes, Francesca Annis and Vanessa Redgrave), or at the Abbey Theatre (the National Theatre of Ireland).

The highlight of the tour is the Dinner with “The Dead,” as the Hotel breathes new life into James Joyce’s famous short story “The Dead” with an unforgettable evening dining experience:

  • Soak up the atmosphere of a private dining experience like no other, as you step into the past and into an authentic Joycean evening at Four Seasons Hotel Dublin.
  • This special meal is right from the pages of Joyce’s short story “The Dead”: Dinner is chicken, spiced beef and baked ham with cloves and floury potatoes. For dessert, indulge in plum pudding, custard with nutmeg, blancmange, red and yellow jellies, Samarian figs, peeled almonds, raisins and small chocolates. Your table will be decorated with randomly arrayed sweets wrapped in silver paper, a vase with stalks of celery and a pyramid of apples and oranges guarded by two decanters – one with sherry and the other with port. Dinner is accompanied by readings from some of Joyce’s most famous works. Guests can choose their favourite passages and enjoy having them read aloud, complete with insights on the works’ meanings.
