It All Starts Here
Base Camp at Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole is where the Resort's full-service outdoor activities concierge provides all manner of info, ideas and equipment to help you experience the year-round possibilities of the area.
In winter, with the slopes right outside the Resort’s door, Base Camp is home to the Ski Concierge, who takes care of every detail from ski rentals and lift tickets to equipment maintenance and lessons, and even a ski valet service. Boot dryers and heaters are at hand, and private storage lockers keep personal gear safe and out of the way.
In warmer weather, the expert team can set up white water rafting, hot air balloon rides, llama treks and horseback riding, or simply suggest a pretty spot for a picnic (and arrange for the hamper of gourmet goodies to go). Armed with local guidebooks, trail maps and an intimate knowledge of the area, Base Camp is where adventures around Jackson Hole begin.
Dream Job: Director of Fishing
With more than 20 years of fly-fishing experience, Ryan Peterson makes dreams of catching the big one come true. Well, almost – as Director of Fishing at Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole, he knows that success in fishing is one part expertise and one part luck, but he’s good at upping the odds by suggesting the best times, places and flies to bag a native cutthroat trout.
He also offers casting lessons, instruction in the art of fly tying and his expert thoughts on what some would call the Zen of fly fishing. For a true mountain fishing experience, Ryan will even take guests out for a day on Snake River in one of the Resort’s handcrafted wooden boats, instructing and guiding guests as they fish.
At midday, a picnic complete with wine and desserts set on a riverside linen-covered table provides an opportunity to tell fish stories before heading back out for more. This day package even includes a commemorative framed photo – that will hopefully feature a couple of big fish.
