While he leaves behind the tranquil serenity of the Sonoran desert, he relishes in the great outdoors of the Teton Mountains - a perfect spot for a workout enthusiast. David Bernand joined Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole as the new General Manager in late 2011, following a two-year appointment at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, where he was Resort Manager. An avid triathlete and marathoner, David begins each day well before sunrise,with a vigorous workout. “With these beautiful surroundings, I can’t imagine a more inspiring training ground.”

Originally from Roanne, France, about an hour from Lyon, he appreciates the value of small town living. For David, moving to Jackson is very much like a home coming. From the first time he came to visit Jackson he was in awe of the Grand Tetons and is excited to enjoy his surroundings with his wife Marion and their three boys, Jules, Antoine and Auguste. “I am excited to raise my children in an environment close to the one I grew up in. The value of outdoor and community living in this valley played a huge part when making the decision to move to Jackson.”

His career in hospitality began more than 20 years ago starting with his family's bakery. This planted the seed for a career in hospitality and the culinary arts, which he began at the ripe age of 14. “I can remember selling bread in the bakery as a young boy and enjoying the interaction with our customers.  That moved me to pursue front of the house positions in a variety of gastronomic restaurants in France before making the switch into the hotel world.” David started his career in hospitality by joining the Five Star Hotel Intercontinental Luxembourg and then transitioning over to the family of Four Seasons.

David's wealth of Four Seasons knowledge serves him well as General Manager, having spent the last twelve years in various F&B positions including stops in, Dallas, Toronto and Washington DC. He was appointed Hotel Manager in Washington DC and has held the Resort Manager position in Scottsdale since September 2009.

In his role at Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole, David utilises his vast experience within Four Seasons brand and in-depth knowledge of the industry to lead this property’s team and day-to-day operations. “It is so exciting to be part of this talented team and amazing property here in Jackson Hole, and I look forward to building on the many traditions and offerings our guests have come to enjoy.”
