Lights Out on Lāna‘i for Earth Hour. Four Seasons Resorts Lāna‘i host sustainable candlelight dinner.
In honour of Earth Hour, a worldwide campaign to recognize climate change, Four Seasons Resorts Lāna‘i will feature a special sustainable menu at The Lodge at Koele and Manele Bay on Saturday, March 27. Eco-conscious guests will participate in the symbolic “lights out” gesture for one hour and dine amidst a candlelight setting. The World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour initiative began in 2007 and has become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating to raise awareness for climate change.
“We are pleased to participate in the global initiative to help raise awareness for such an important cause,” says Tom Roelens, general manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lāna‘i. “The Resorts are dedicated to conserving energy and Hawaii’s precious natural resources on a daily basis and Earth Hour is another reminder that we all must take responsibility for a sustainable future.”
The Resorts, along with 45 other Four Seasons hotels and resorts worldwide, will create a chain of candlelight dinners circling the globe. Earth Hour begins in Sydney and makes its way west at 8:30 pm local time on March 27.
Executive Chef Fabrice Huet has created an exquisite menu, utilizing locally-sourced and organic products found throughout Hawaii. The sustainable ingredients include Big Island Oysters; Kona Lobster; Kona Black Cod; Molokai potato puree; Kula corn wasabi broth; Kauai Shrimp; Hamakua mushrooms; and Steamed Hawaiian Snapper caught off the coast of Lāna‘i from local fisherman. In addition, a selection of produce is sourced from Bennie’s Farm on Lāna‘i.
Guests may enjoy the Earth Hour candlelight dinner either at the Dining Room at The Lodge at Koele or at the Ocean Hale Experience at Manele Bay, offering a private dinner under the stars. For more information or to make a dining reservation, please call (808) 565-2388.
