With a selection of more than 250 labels on the Amaranto wine list and some 700 bottles dramatically showcased in the spectacular chrome and glass wine library lining two sides of the Amaranto Bar, the scene is set for the most exciting wine program in the city at Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane.

As a complement to the Italian-inspired restaurant, and to Chef Davide Degiovanni’s modern Italian cuisine, Amaranto’s collection of fine wines are predominantly from the better known Tuscan and Piedmont regions of Italy. Each of these wines are available for tasting by the glass (with a minimum order of two glasses), giving guests the unprecedented opportunity of savouring the finest Italian wines without having to purchase a full bottle.

Sommelier Marco Franchi is delighted with this exclusive innovative wine program. “Wine lovers are now able to taste a wider, more interesting range of wines than ever before,” he says. “Consumers are becoming so much more adventurous about trying new wines and it gives our sommeliers a greater flexibility to be able to offer quality wines, often produced in smaller wineries, at affordable prices. To be able to sample a 2009 Gaja E Rey, a must for chardonnay lovers and not usually available in London, or a 2008 Castello de Vicchiomaggio, special for its merlot popularity, are rare treats at GBP 59.00 per glass. We are so proud to be able to offer wines by the glass on such a large scale and diversity – there isn’t a wine program anything like this in London.”

The Amaranto wine team includes sommeliers from Italy, France, Austria and Peru, so with a wealth of wine experience between them wine lovers are in for a real treat and in safe hands.
