In an effort to continue its commitment to the environment, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia is now offering Natura water to guests throughout the Hotel and in all restaurants. Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia is the first hotel in the city to offer Natura water.

The leading water-purification system in the United States, the Natura water system removes impurities from the local water source while retaining healthy minerals – thus significantly reducing our use of disposable plastic bottles. Still or sparkling water is dispensed into glass bottles, designed for wash and reuse, and then presented to guests. The Natura water-purification system is the only one of its kind to use both high-grade carbon filters and UV technology to eliminate distasteful impurities such as chlorine, metals, sediment and bacteria.

According to the Container Recycling Institute, 86% of plastic water bottles in the United States become garbage or litter, amounting to 30 million bottles per day. In addition, when sent to landfill, plastic bottles can take up to a millennium to biodegrade.

“Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia has a strong commitment to lessening our carbon footprint,” says Harry Gorstayn, general manager. “By offering Natura water to our guests, we are able to reduce the waste sent to landfills while offering our guests great-tasting still and sparkling water from local sources.”

Natura water is currently available in the Fountain Restaurant and Swann Lounge & Café. Natura water is also available upon request for private functions and meetings set up through the sales and catering departments.

The installation of Natura water continues the eco-friendly practices of Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. With a strong commitment to recycling and composting, the Hotel has composted 356,803 pounds of kitchen waste since the beginning of 2007. The amount of energy saved by the Hotel over the past two years is the equivalent of 3.5 million pounds of carbon monoxide, or the removal of 553 automobiles from the road.
