As General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai, Fredrik Blomqvist is one of those people who lights up the room with his endless supply of positive energy and enthusiastic approach.

A life long hotelier with experience on four continents and eleven countries, Blomqvist has worked in the hotel industry for more than18 years and has tremendous experience as a hotel executive in countless cities all around the globe, from Shanghai to Chiang Mai, Jakarta and Philadelphia.

Arriving in China in 2010 for the pre-opening of Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou, Blomqvist joined Four Seasons Shanghai in February 2012 and was immediately captivated by the magic of the city. His is particularly fond of the traditional charm of Puxi, juxtaposed seamlessly with the modern characteristics of Pudong.

One of the key ingredients to Blomqvist’s success is his passionate for what he does. Goal-oriented and focused on getting ahead of the competition, he always aims to be “crystal clear, aiming for the best and steering ahead.”

Blomqvist is a firm believer that treating staff very well is a fundamental ingredient to ensuring guest satisfaction, as he believes the staff is the window to the organizational structure.

Outside of the office, Blomqvist is equally passionate about life and especially spending time with his wife and son. The changing moment in his life he states, was when his “little Viking" Rickard Erik was born. He believes it is his Viking blood that drives him to explore the world, yet insists that the most beautiful spot in the world is still the seaside Fagelsundet of northeast Sweden. Also very keen on staying active in his leisure time, Blomqvist enjoys working out and a casual tennis game as well as watching Formula One and ice hockey. He enjoys cooking all kinds of different foods, especially summer BBQ and Swedish home-style cooking, plus eating out and trying new and innovative restaurants concepts with his strong background in food and beverage.
