Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley at East Palo Alto is firing up a Weber Grill Academy to take place this summer and early fall. Celebrated Chef Jamie Purviance, an award-winning author, journalist, teacher, and Culinary Institute of America and Stanford graduate, will lead two day-long interactive courses to educate and inspire both BBQ novices and seasoned enthusiasts.

Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to gain confidence and exposure to gas grills, charcoal grills, and smokers; and learn not only what to grill, but how to grill using a variety of principles and techniques, including lessons and highlights from Purviance's latest book, Weber Smoke.

Chef Purviance believes that “along with warm summer days, the time has come to feed our fascination with fire and outdoor cooking. I look forward to gathering a small group of grillers at this lavish Hotel and teaching them to harness the heat and flavours of all sorts of grills and smokers. What separates the master grillers from the masses is a command of technique, and that’s exactly what each student will learn in this fun-filled day of hands-on instruction.”

The full day sessions will begin with breakfast on the pool terrace, and will proceed to hands on instruction in the Quattro restaurant courtyard led by Purviance and supported by Four Seasons Executive Chef Marco Fossati. Following the morning instruction, the group will enjoy lunch, savouring tastes of the morning's session. In the afternoon, students will be coached in smoking techniques. The day will end with drinks, appetizers, and a collaborative sharing of the day's success stories.

Students are encouraged to bring the whole family or make it a gentlemen or ladies weekend getaway. After class, attendees can indulge and take advantage of the Hotel's full service Spa, relax at the rooftop pool, or explore the local community.

The Weber Grill Academy with Jamie Purviance will be offered on July 21 or September 22, 2012 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Participation fee is USD 195.00 per person, an special Weber Grill Academy room rates available upon request.
