History:

  • Built in 1982 on the site of a former colonial jail in the historic harbourside The Rocks precinct
  • Overlooks Sydney Cove, where Captain Arthur Philip first landed in 1788 to establish the colony of New South Wales
  • Originally opened as The Regent; managed by Four Seasons since 1992 and rebranded as Four Seasons Hotel Sydney in 2002
  • Hotel has since undergone multiple refurbishments, including a AUD 65 million update in 1999, guest room refurbishment in 2009, lobby refurbishment in 2010, Signature Suites refurbishment in 2011, AUD 11 million project for new restaurant and Grain bar in 2012, and creation of new meeting spaces in 2013
