After falling deeply in love with the city and the way in which it has grown to become a destination that is modern yet steeped in culture, Olivier Thomas joined the team at Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island as General Manager in 2017.

As an individual who believes that a perfect environment to raise a family is one that is peaceful, diverse and systematic, Thomas feels completely at home in Abu Dhabi: “Each time I visited the city, I was instantly drawn to the harmonious co-existence of the wide diversity of cultures and ethnic groups that call this beautiful city home.”

“Also, it was always important to us – as a family – to settle down in a place where our children would learn to appreciate global cultures, get the opportunity to experience their traditions, and may be even pick up a new language. And, it is this truly comforting sense of belonging and family life that I enjoy the most about being in Abu Dhabi,” he adds.  

A hospitality veteran of more than 20 years, Thomas took on this new role at the stylish property from Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, where he held the same position from 2014 to 2017. Prior to Casablanca, Thomas’ Four Seasons journey saw him serve at the company’s properties in Amman, his first Four Seasons assignment, as well as in Prague.

Having received his most important lessons in gastronomy and hospitality from his mother and grandmother, it is only fitting to see Thomas now lead a Hotel that has quickly become popular as the capital’s ultimate destination for stylish entertaining with its six distinct dining venues.

“Home to a tasteful mix of gastronomy concepts, our property offers an excellent variety for food lovers from around the world. From a 1920s Chicago-inspired steakhouse experience that is Butcher & Still to the Al Meylas lounge that is adored by our visitors as a the perfect place to gather, relax and unwind, and Cafe Milano, the first international outpost of its renowned sister restaurant in the United States – the Hotel’s dining selection is exquisitely diverse and inviting,” says Thomas.

The Hotel’s location is another element that appeals to Thomas. “The Hotel is unique in the sense that is part of a larger community – Al Maryah Island – but at the same time, it also retains its exclusiveness. In this way, it offers easy access to all the popular lifestyle activities including leisure and shopping and close connectivity to the major arts and cultural spots such as Louvre Abu Dhabi.”
