Pleasant days and cool evenings – not to mention a full line-up of special events, football games and festivals – provide the perfect backdrop for a spectacular autumn visit to Austin. This year, Four Seasons Hotel Austin is adding to the fun with a calendar that’s brimming with fall events and promotions, from a traditional Oktoberfest celebration and immersive Dia de los Muertos menus to an end-of-summer barbecue with Big Green Egg’s official pitmaster.

Dia de la Independencia

Led by Chef Fernando Mendez Chombo, Ciclo will commemorate Mexican Independence Day on September 15, 2022 with a mariachi band and piñatas, as well as Yucatan and Quintana Roo-inspired cocktails and dishes that will be available all weekend long.

In the Key of Fall

A trip to the “Live Music Capital of the World” wouldn’t be complete without an evening (or two) spent discovering some of the city’s top talent. Guests can get their fill of live music with five weekly performances throughout the Hotel, ranging from up-and-coming acts to beloved Austin bands. If the music so moves them, visitors can also strike a pose in front of the Hotel’s floral wall in the Lobby, made up of vintage album covers, a guitar and thousands of seasonal blooms.

Football Fun

Longhorn pride is on full display at the Hotel each University of Texas home game weekend, from special in-room amenities and spirited pop-up shops in the Lobby to a prize-filled football pool at check-in. New additions this year include a face-painting station and the Smokey the Cannon cocktail in Live Oak.

Oktoberfest in Austin

Locals and visitors can raise a glass – or better yet, a stein – to Oktoberfest in Austin with two different ways to celebrate. From September 17 to October 3, 2022, Live Oak guests will enjoy a special menu of authentic Bavarian specialties – curated by native German and long-time Executive Chef Elmar Prambs – ranging from giant pretzels and a devilled egg trio to bratwurst and kirschwasser Black Forest cake.

On September 25 and October 2, 2022, the fun heads outdoors with afternoon events at Trinity Point, featuring live music, traditional German brews and stein-holding contests. Tickets to the event are USD 40 per person and may be purchased on OpenTable. Each admission includes two drink tickets, and a menu of Bavarian specialties will also be available for purchase.

Dia de los Muertos

Dia de los Muertos calls on people to remember their family and friends, and to bring their stories, memories and lives back to life through food, drink and sharing. Ciclo will continue this revered tradition from October 4 to November 6, 2022 with Chef Richard Sandoval’s special Day of the Dead menu, including a Palo Santo Margarita, Pineapple Mezcal Sour and mole coloradito enchiladas, among other dishes.

Big Green Egg Barbecue

On October 16, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, guests can get a crash course in gourmet grilling from Big Green Egg’s official pitmaster at a one-of-a-kind fall barbecue. Widely known as one of the best pitmasters in the nation, Jack Arnold will “light up the night” as he prepares a hearty menu of smoked favourites loosely choreographed to lively DJ sets and paired with delicious cocktails. Tickets for this event – including access to all of the food and a complimentary cocktail – are USD 95 per person and will be available starting September 17, 2022.
