As a member of the local community, Four Seasons Hotel Baku is committed to taking care of such a beautiful city as Baku. To support positive environmental impact by the Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel Baku has launched green actions to protect the planet and conserve natural resources.

Environmental Programs

  • Vegan and vegetarian menu items available
  • Linens and towels replaced every third day, unless otherwise requested 

Energy, Carbon and Water Reduction

  • Energy-building management system
  • Water conservation measures in place 
  • Conduct regular energy and water audits to find opportunities to lower consumption and increase efficiency
  • Tracking the carbon footprint monitored through a system and reduce it every day for maintaining sustainability commitment
  • Offering green transportation arrangement for guests with cutting-edge Mercedes-EQ electric cars

Waste Reduction

  • Elimination of single-use plastic food and beverage containers and becoming 100 percent plastic-free at the Hotel this year across all the outlets
  • Using in-room laundry bags made of eco-friendly linen material for laundry needs to reduce plastic waste and take a load off the planet
  • Recycling program in place, including on-site glass crushing and local partnerships to divert used cooking oil and batteries from landfill
  • Food waste diverted from landfill and donated to local animal shelters
  • Recycling food waste with the help of Ecobot machine, which will be purchased shortly, and processing it into organic compost donated to local farms
  • Introducing new large-capacity multi-use Sodage bathroom amenities in rooms and public areas installed in special tamper-proof 100 percent recyclable dispensers, refilled by sealed cartridges to ensure peace of mind for guests
  • Placing water in glass bottles instead of plastic for reducing plastic waste

Sustainable Food and Beverage

  • Local, sustainable and seasonal menu items available
  • Responsibly sourced seafood available
  • Rosemary and thyme grown in property’s on-site garden used in the Chefs’ kitchens

Building a Green Community

  • The Head of the Hotel’s Green Team participates monthly in the Sustainability Committee of the Azerbaijan Hotel Association, which was created jointly with the Ministry of Ecology
  • Guests can engage in educational tours at local, natural, cultural, historical or heritage sites to learn more about the local community through the Concierge, including a guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Icheri Sheher (The Inner City), engaging in the mysterious stories of Baku’s aristocracies at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and exploring the Ateshgah Historical Architectural Reserve
  • Local artists and artisans featured throughout the Hotel's common areas, including contemporary works from Azerbaijan-based painters, carpet weavers and sculptors
  • Guests have a unique opportunity to learn carpet weaving techniques at Four Seasons Hotel Baku through the Azerkhalcha store
  • Linen, furniture and equipment donated to various local community organizations
  • Commitment to planting trees in collaboration with the Nizami Ganjavi International Center during the IX Global Baku Forum
