Born in Udaipur, one of the biggest tourist destinations in India, Vishal was enthralled when he had his first encounter with luxury hospitality during a visit to Taj Lake Palace, the top luxury hotel in the city. “I was amazed by what I saw and experienced,” he says. “Servers were bustling through the place, entertaining guests. The stunning decor, the exquisite food…I still remember it like it was yesterday.”

When it came time for Vishal to choose what he would study at university, he originally thought he would become an engineer. But his father encouraged him to explore hotel management instead. After careful consideration, he chose to major in hospitality. It was to prove an excellent choice, and marked the beginning of a successful career in the F&B industry.

Since starting out as a banquet server 15 years ago, Vishal’s life has centred around food and wine. “It’s hard to believe that I only had my first sip of alcohol after college,” he says. The state where he went to university had a ban on alcohol due to local laws. But lack of access didn’t stop him. If anything, it sharpened his desire to learn, and he sought out numerous books to teach himself the art and science of beverages.

Vishal’s lifelong dedication to learning found the perfect home at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, and later at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing. “My 12 years with Four Seasons have groomed me for success,” he says. “I’m amazed and inspired by the hardworking team, the talented chefs, bartenders and mixologists, and also by our incredible guests.”

One of the reasons Vishal understands what guests need is that he is often a guest himself. A gastro tourist, he plans his trips around local restaurants and bars. “People will never stop travelling or trying great food, and neither will I,” he says. “I design my vacations based on my food map.”

Vishal is happy to bring his dedication and love for food, drinks and service to Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. “I believe this hotel will become the venue of choice for social and corporate events in Bangkok.
