Going for Gold: Four Seasons Hotel Beijing Heralds China’s 70th National Day Celebrations with “Va Va Voom” Décor and Cutting-Edge Cocktails
Glorious Golden Week: it’s the upcoming Chinese celebration that everyone is talking about and at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing, plans are well underway to honour the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in striking style.
From riotous red and gold decorations – representing good fortune and happiness, richness and nobility as well as the flag of China – to cutting-edge cocktails paired with captivating cakes, every department of the Hotel is poised to infuse an already magical vacation with the unique Four Seasons brand of modernity and innovation.
The weeklong “golden holiday”, held from October 1 to 7, 2019, is one of the most anticipated highlights of Beijing’s cultural and social calendar. This year, the celebrations are set to be especially grand, from fireworks and flag-raising ceremonies to song and dance shows.
Celebrations inside the Hotel reflect the auspiciousness of the event, delivered in the Hotel’s trademark cutting-edge style. “Here at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing, we particularly enjoy promoting the visionary elements of our future-focused city,” says Christian Poda, General Manager. “At this landmark moment in the country’s history, we’ve drawn on China’s rich traditions to deliver experiences that reflect the forward-thinking flair of modern Beijing.”
Guests visiting during Golden Week can expect avant-garde flower displays featuring red roses and vibrant ruby cockscomb, whose name is linked to the rooster, an auspicious animal in Chinese culture. Two colourful cocktails have also been devised to commemorate the special week: Made in China, and Revolution, featuring China’s most famous liquor, baijang. Complementing the cocktails, 70-shaped cake and National Day cake similarly combine the flag-inspired colours of red and gold.
With excitement shimmering in the blue skies of Beijing this October, guests can position themselves at the heart of the city’s celebrations in a Hotel committed to setting the city’s scene for the next 70 years of innovation.
