Maria Jagla brings more than 20 years of worldwide hotel experience to her latest assignment as General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. In her tenth assignment with Four Seasons, Maria makes the move to French Polynesia from the seaside resort town of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Maria had her sights set on the hospitality industry at an early age, working in her family’s small inn in Bavaria. Her studies took her on the road, where she gained much experience in hotels throughout Europe. Maria’s first job with Four Seasons was in Sydney, where her tenure in various operational roles included the Olympic Games in 2000. The next stop on her Four Seasons journey was across the Pacific Ocean to San Francisco, where she was the Director of Rooms in the pre and post-opening period. From West to East, landing at The Pierre (then a Four Seasons hotel) and Four Seasons Hotel New York, Maria later took on the “Windy City” as Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago.
Maria’s worldly experience, extensive exposure and never-say-no attitude led her to Maui as Resort Manager for four years. And in mid-2012, Maria’s previous expertise made her an ideal addition to the team in London where she led Hotel Operations during the Olympic year.
Moving from busy Park Lane in the heart of London to the hillside Red Sea diving resort of Sharm El Sheikh primed Maria for her current assignment in Bora Bora, where her passion for creating amazing memories for guests shines. Her watersports skills are also primed, which is a good thing in Bora Bora’s magical water world, where Maria and her husband Tomas spend much of their free time on and under the famous turquoise lagoon.
