As families and friends gather beneath the glow of the Mid-Autumn moon, traditions of togetherness take centre stage. At Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River, these cherished celebrations inspire Reflections of the River, a mooncake collection that draws on the enduring presence of the Chao Phraya and the craftsmanship of Cantonese culinary tradition.

Flowing past the hotel and through the heart of Bangkok, the Chao Phraya River serves as inspiration for this year’s collection. Created by Executive Chinese Chef Tommy Cheung of Yu Ting Yuan, the hotel’s Michelin-recommended Cantonese restaurant, the collection reflects the balance, precision and refinement that define Cantonese cuisine while celebrating Bangkok.

New for 2026, the Thai Tea mooncake pays tribute to one of Thailand’s most recognisable flavours. Warm notes of tea and spice are interpreted through traditional mooncake craftsmanship, creating a flavour that feels both familiar and unexpected. The result is a mooncake that bridges Cantonese tradition with distinctly local sense of place.

"The Mid-Autumn Festival is about bringing people together," says Chef Tommy Cheung. "For many families, mooncakes are part of memories that are shared year after year. With this collection, we wanted to honour those traditions while introducing a flavour inspired by Thailand, the place we are fortunate to call home."

The Design Concept: Reflections of the River

The collection is presented in a gift box inspired by the Chao Phraya River, whose waters have shaped Bangkok's story for centuries. Flowing alongside the hotel, the river serves as a symbol of continuity, connection and movement—qualities that echo the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival itself.

“The Chao Phraya is the heart of life in Bangkok,” says Michel Gunnar Eberhardt, Director of Food and Beverage. “This collection reflects that connection-not only through tits design, but through the way the Mid-Autmn Festival brings people together to celebrate tradition, family and shared experiences.”

Five Flavours, One Story of Tradition and Discovery

The 2026 collection brings together beloved mooncake traditions with flavours inspired by both Cantonese heritage and contemporary tastes:

  • Lotus Paste with Salted Egg Yolk: A timeless classic featuring silky lotus seed paste and a golden salted egg yolk.
  • Durian with Salted Egg Yolk: Bold and indulgent, pairing the creamy richness of durian with the savoury depth of salted egg.
  • Mango Pine Nuts: A tropical homage, blending sweet mango purée with roasted pine nuts for brightness and texture.
  • Custard with Salted Egg Yolk: Smooth and contemporary, featuring velvety custard uplifted by a savoury centre.
  • Thai Tea: A new addition that brings a familiar Thai flavour to the collection in a refined format.

Two limited-edition sets are available:

  •  Two-Flavour Mooncake Box: A curated collection of six handcrafted mooncakes (70g each), offering a choice of two signature flavours with three pieces of each. Guests may select from combinations of Mango Pine Nut, Thai Tea, White Lotus with Salted Egg Yolk, and Durian with Salted Egg Yolk. Priced at THB 1,388 net.
  • Single-Flavour Mooncake Box: A collection of six mooncakes (70g each), dedicated to one flavour of your choice. Available in Custard, Mango Pine Nut, Thai Tea, White Lotus with Salted Egg Yolk, or Durian with Salted Egg Yolk. Priced at THB 1,388 net.
