In alignment with Earth Day’s 2025 global theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru reaffirms its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship through its ongoing Four Seasons for Good initiatives. Recognising the urgent need for collective action towards a sustainable future, the hotel showcases its deeply embedded practices that champion energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction.

At Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru, sustainability is not merely an operational consideration but a fundamental aspect of the hotel’s very aesthetic. Guests are immersed in a recurring dialogue between nature and architecture, evident in the serene Butterfly Garden, the lush Ribbon Lawn, and the verdant poolside retreat – all tributes to Bengaluru’s "Garden City" moniker. This connection to nature extends beyond aesthetics into tangible environmental responsibility. The hotel actively minimises its environmental footprint through a series of impactful measures:

  • Energy Efficiency: 90 percent of the hotel’s spaces utilise energy-efficient LED lighting, managed by intuitive control systems. The operation of the steam boiler on LPG instead of diesel significantly maximises energy efficiency, while solar power is harnessed to heat water for kitchens, laundry, and public areas.
  • Water Conservation: Real-time water monitoring systems, solar-powered water heaters, and chlorine-free pool technology, utilising both municipal and underground sources, underscore the hotel’s commitment to responsible water usage.
  • Waste Reduction: A significant step towards eliminating single-use plastics is the hotel’s on-site Bottling Plant, producing high-quality drinking water served in recyclable glass bottles. Furthermore, single-use bathroom amenities have been replaced with luxurious, large-format options. An organic waste converter transforms kitchen waste into valuable manure for the hotel’s gardens, complementing a robust waste segregation program.
  • Nature Integration: The hotel’s own herb garden provides fresh, organic ingredients for its kitchens and the Infuse Spa, further reducing its environmental impact. Expansive green belts and living green walls both inside and outside the premises enhance air quality and biodiversity.
  • Sustainable Food and Beverage Practices: At Copitas, the hotel’s acclaimed bar, a conscious effort is made to minimise waste through the exclusive use of coconut husk and steel straws, innovative cocktail techniques such as fermentation and preserving peels, and the provision of plantable coasters embedded with holy basil seeds. Seed bombs made from recycled materials further champion recycling efforts.

The hotel’s dedication to environmental responsibility has been recognised with the prestigious LEED Platinum certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). This accolade reflects the hotel’s ongoing efforts to uphold the highest standards of sustainable building and operations.

“At Four Seasons, our commitment extends beyond providing exceptional hospitality; it encompasses a deep responsibility towards our planet and the communities we serve,” says Biswajit Chakraborty, General Manager. “Aligned with Earth Day’s powerful message of unity for renewable energy, our Four Seasons for Good initiatives drive us to continually seek innovative and impactful ways to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.”

To further amplify its commitment, Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru is engaging in the following Earth Day activations:

  • Social Media Campaign: Throughout Earth Day week, the hotel will share engaging content highlighting its key sustainability initiatives under the hashtags #FourSeasonsForGood and #OurPowerOurPlanet, encouraging guests and the wider community to adopt more eco-conscious practices.
  • Guest Engagement: Information on the hotel’s sustainability efforts will be shared with guests, fostering awareness and inspiring mindful choices during their stay.
  • Employee Engagement: Internal initiatives will further educate and empower team members to champion sustainability both at work and in their personal lives.

Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru invites guests and the community to join them in recognising the power of collective action for our planet, today and every day.
