Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest welcomes guests to discover Hungary's rich culinary traditions through a truffle hunting experience set in the heart of the countryside. Part of the hotel's Discover Hungarian Heritage collection, the five-hour journey connects guests with local experts, authentic traditions and the exceptional flavours of the region.

The Discover Hungarian Heritage collection celebrates the people, craftsmanship and cultural legacies that define Hungary. Alongside curated experiences inspired by the artistry of Herend porcelain and the country's celebrated chess heritage, the truffle hunting experience offers an immersive introduction to one of Hungary's most cherished gastronomic traditions.

"The Discover Hungarian Heritage collection was created to reveal Hungary through authentic stories and meaningful connections," says Julia Selyukova, General Manager. "From meeting master artisans and exploring Hungary's chess heritage to searching for prized truffles alongside local experts, these experiences offer a deeper connection to the destination and its culture."

Available from June 1 to October 16, the experience takes guests to a private truffle reserve approximately one hour from the hotel. Welcomed by the reserve's owners, guests are introduced to the fascinating world of truffles before joining experienced hunters and their highly trained dogs on a guided search for the prized black truffle, often known as the black diamond of the culinary world.

The experience concludes with an al fresco multi-course lunch showcasing freshly harvested truffles, seasonal ingredients and regional wines. Set against the backdrop of the Hungarian countryside, the meal celebrates the flavours, traditions and producers that make the region unique.

Combining outdoor discovery, authentic local connections and exceptional cuisine, the truffle hunting experience offers a distinctive way to explore a lesser-known side of Hungary while enjoying the personalized service synonymous with Four Seasons.
