The signature Afternoon Tea of Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca is back from its summer hiatus and ready to send patrons on an exciting gourmet journey. Executive Pastry Chef Thierry Metee has once again brought his French flair to the Afternoon Tea buffet’s assortment of savoury pastries, which will pair perfectly with the fine selection of loose tea blends from the Maison Wright Tea collection of grand cru teas.

“We are excited to announce this partnership with Wright Tea, whose collection of fine tea will provide an elevated and wonderful addition to our popular Afternoon Tea experience,” states General Manager Olivier Thomas. “We very much look forward to introducing this brand to our international guests and continuing to underscore the important tea culture that thrives in Morocco.”

With 80 years of experience, Maison Wright Tea is the leading local importer and distributor of tea in Morocco. The Maison owes its namesake to Richard Wright, a silversmith who during the 19th century supplied the social elite of Morocco with fine tea silverware that would soon inspire local craftsman to produce exact replicas of Wright’s creations, sealing his name in the local lexicon. A family-run business since the 1930s, father and now son have meticulously selected tea from the world’s finest gardens and plantations to produce a catalogue of more than 200 rare and exclusive tea references.

“Maison Wright Tea will introduce the art of Moroccan tea to Four Seasons. This prestigious establishment proposes the most coveted tea time in Casablanca and will now be able to offer its guests high-end tea. Tea connoisseurs will delight in discovering the refined and sophisticated teas of our signature brand, all while enjoying the remarkable Atlantic views in the exceptional setting of Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca,” states Hamid Raji, President Maison Wright Tea.

At Mint, patrons will now discover the selection of the brand’s luxury tea such as the Maison’s emblematic tea 1856, from the green tea collection, a marvellous blend of green tea, Moroccan mint and a molasses concentrate that draws inspiration from the ancestral preparation of Moroccan tea.  Highlights from the black tea collection include the classic English breakfast served with milk and Earl Grey flavoured with bergamot orange; the Via Condotti named after the famous cafés of the 1930s blends black tea with coffee and a hint of caramel and date aromas; and the Darjeeling Queen’s Blend is considered the most sought-after black tea. Grown at the foothills of the Himalayas, its light body and colour is flavoured with floral and spicy notes, ideal for savouring during the Afternoon Tea. Guests will also discover a selection of exclusive and unique tea fusions inspired from the four corners of the globe such as the sencha tea, a Japanese green tea that is prepared through a vaporisation process, Rein de Saba blending oolong, traditional Chinese tea with jasmine and hints of tangerine or the Key West, a rooibos tea that’s grown in South Africa, infused with citrus notes.

Guests will be delighted to discover a new buffet assortment of sweet and savoury items that captures once again the essence of quintessential British, French and Moroccan pastries. Highlights include the new chocolate fountain for dipping fruit brochettes and coco marshmallows. Pastry Chef Metee’s signature cream puff pastries are also back with a fall-inspired citrus and hazelnut cream as well as the miniature chocolate magnum flavoured with a hint of praline. A variety of salty items include the satay chicken wrap, toast garnished with tuna, olive and harissa, and blinis with smoked salmon.
