Adorn Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago Celebrates Its Addition to the 2022 Michelin Guide, Jean Banchet Award Nomination, and Being Named One of Chicago’s “35 Best Restaurants to Try in 2022”







Adorn Bar & Restaurant celebrates numerous accolades on the dawn of its first anniversary: the announcement of its inclusion in Chicago’s 2022 Michelin Guide; being named a finalist for “Pastry Program of the Year” by the Jean Banchet Awards; and being featured as one of Chicago’s “35 Best Restaurants to try in 2022” by CS Modern Luxury Magazine, a list which also includes such industry heavyweights as José Andrés’ Bazaar Meat and Chef Curtis Duffy’s Ever.

Since opening last spring, Adorn has cultivated a best-in-class, star-studded team, anchored by James Beard Award-winning Chef Jonathon Sawyer. The team’s diverse backgrounds and travels colour the dishes they create that celebrate Midwestern ingredients as seen through a global lens.
Executive Pastry Chef Juan Gutierrez oversees the pastry kitchen at Adorn and Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. His desserts are influenced by culinarily-rich locations around the world and have become a guest favourite of the new Gold Coast dining establishment. In 2019, Gutierrez was nominated for a prestigious Jean Banchet Award for Rising Star Pastry Chef of the Year, continuing his recognition this year by being named a finalist for “Pastry Program of the Year.” Last fall, Gutierrez made waves as the winner of the Netflix pastry competition, School of Chocolate, hosted by famed chocolatier Amaury Guichon.
“We are thrilled to be nominated for our pastry program and to be in such great culinary company,” says Gutierrez. “Our menu at Adorn is created to inspire moments of connection for guests by enticing the senses through unexpected dessert creations. For me, it’s important for a dish to draw on a fond memory or be the catalyst for a new memorable experience.”
At the intersection of food, art, style and music, Adorn is situated on the seventh floor of the newly reimagined Four Seasons Hotel Chicago and designed by internationally renowned architecture and design firm Rottet Studio. Guests are welcomed by a convivial 360-degree wrap-around bar and impressive dropped chandelier, continuing to the dining room where local and international artworks punctuate the space. Supporting the restaurant’s global vision, Adorn’s Live in the Lounge residency features recognised musician and DJ performances with world influences. Thursdays through Sundays, guests can enjoy a roster of varied musical styles from South American guitarists and veterans of the Chicago jazz scene to DJs who spin house, funk, and disco. Taken together, these artists produce a soundtrack that celebrates both the restaurant and the city’s eclectic energy and history.
