Four Seasons Hotel Doha Launches #MoveAMuscle

Four Seasons Hotel Doha has launched #MoveAMuscle, a health and wellness initiative in support of muscular dystrophy.  Designed to raise awareness of the muscle-debilitating disease, the Hotel will feature an ongoing complimentary wellness series to encourage guests and Doha residents to "move a muscle" and live an active lifestyle.

“Our goal is to empower individuals and families to make their health and wellness a top priority,” says Todd Cilano, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Doha.  “Four Seasons is honoured to help raise awareness towards this vital cause and offer complimentary programing to the community through our innovative #MoveAMuscle campaign.”

The program was launched in May 14, 2016 when Four Seasons hosted a successful inaugural #MoveAMuscle event featuring a 60-minute Zumba class that was attended by more than 100 enthusiastic participants who "moved a muscle" in support of those affected by the disease.  The event was hosted by Nawaal Akram, a 17-year-old Pakistani born and raised in Qatar, model, actress, comedian, and Paralympian living with the rare genetic disease.  Nawaal is the founder of the non-profit organisation Muscular Dystrophy (MD) Qatar, which aims to create awareness about the disease and to help people with similar conditions.

“It was such an overwhelming feeling of having support from the community and Four Seasons Hotel Doha. I didn’t find this support from the community growing up, and from this #MoveAMuscle event we got people from the community together for a cause,” says Nawaal. “This event gave a chance to bring people together who have people in their family suffering from muscular dystrophy and they felt a sense of happiness of having so much support.”
