Golden Triangle, Thailand

This festive season, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle offers the opportunity to celebrate amidst the beauty of Northern Thailand, where traditions, experiences and meaningful connections unfold in the heart of the jungle.

Set among lush bamboo forests at the meeting point of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, the all-inclusive luxury tented camp offers an extraordinary festive escape where nature and culture come together in unforgettable ways. From riverside celebrations and authentic local traditions to exceptional dining, every experience is thoughtfully curated to inspire togetherness, reflection and discovery.

"Our location in the Golden Triangle offers something truly exceptional during the festive season," says Ashok Nair, Camp Manager. "From the gentle flow of the Ruak River, which lends special meaning to our Loy Krathong celebrations, to the cool jungle air and the serenity of the surrounding forest, every element of the destination enriches the festive experience. We look forward to welcoming guests to celebrate the season in a setting where nature and culture converge. There is a sense of magic here that is unlike anywhere else."

Where the River Glows with Gratitude

The festive calendar begins with Loy Krathong on November 24, 2026, Thailand's enchanting Festival of Lights, when communities gather beneath the full moon to honour the Goddess of Water. Rooted in centuries-old traditions, the celebration reflects Thailand's enduring relationship with its rivers, which have long sustained communities and shaped daily life.

The name Loy Krathong translates as "to float a krathong", with loy meaning "to float" and krathong referring to a small floating basket traditionally crafted from banana tree trunks and folded banana leaves. Releasing a krathong onto the river is both a way to pay respect to the Goddess of Water and a symbolic act of letting go of misfortune while welcoming renewed hope for the year ahead.

Set beside the tranquil Ruak River, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle offers one of the country's most authentic settings to experience this cherished occasion. Guests can create their own krathong before gently releasing their handcrafted floating baskets onto the moonlit river.

As evening falls, the celebration continues with an authentic Northern Thai Kanthok dinner served beside the river. Traditionally, a Kanthok meal was reserved for special celebrations and gatherings. At Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, this Northern Thai dining tradition is thoughtfully reimagined as a private, immersive experience. Regional dishes are served together, encouraging guests to share, connect and discover the flavours of Northern Thailand in an authentic setting.

The evening is accompanied by graceful classical dance performances and the rhythmic beats of traditional drums. Along the river, countless flickering Krathong Sai lanterns drift gently downstream, illuminating the night with wishes, gratitude and hope.

A Thanksgiving Gathering in the Golden Triangle

As the festive season unfolds, Thanksgiving offers another memorable opportunity to gather in the heart of the Golden Triangle. Guests are invited to savour a thoughtfully curated dinner featuring beloved Traditional Roasted Turkey Carving, alongside dishes inspired by the flavours of Northern Thailand and crafted with the finest seasonal ingredients. Set against the backdrop of the Camp's tranquil wilderness, the evening celebrates gratitude, connection and the simple joy of sharing exceptional food with family and friends.

A Festive Wonderland in the Wild

Throughout the Festivities, the Camp is transformed into an enchanting festive retreat, where elegant seasonal décor blends seamlessly with the surrounding wilderness. Beneath a towering bamboo canopy, a beautifully adorned Christmas tree creates a magical centrepiece, bringing the warmth and wonder of the holidays to the heart of the jungle.

Christmas Beneath the Jungle Canopy

As night falls over the Golden Triangle, the jungle awakens in its own quiet celebration. Beneath a blanket of stars, the melodies of the forest blend with the gentle sounds of the Ruak River, creating a magical setting where nature becomes part of the festivities.

Guests are invited to begin the evening at Mai Pai Lounge with a festive aperitif, accompanied by seasonal canapés and the peaceful beauty of the surrounding jungle. The celebration continues by the riverside, where a Christmas Eve Jungle Dinner brings loved ones close together. A family-style feast of seasonal flavours creates a memorable evening filled with connection, warmth and the spirit of the festive season.

Welcoming the New Year Beneath the Stars

The year concludes with two distinctive dining experiences that capture the Camp's spirit of celebration.

At Nong Yao Restaurant, guests can savour an elegant five- course New Year's Eve dinner where refined seasonal flavours are thoughtfully presented in an intimate jungle setting to celebrate the year's final evening.

As the year draws to a close, the Camp’s riverside setting transforms into an enchanting celebration beneath the stars. Guests gather by the Ruak River to savour festive flavours, enjoy the artistry of Thai cultural performances and share moments of joy with loved ones. As midnight nears, the glow of lanterns rises into the night sky as guests gather around the bonfire to welcome new beginnings and raise a toast in the magical surroundings of the Golden Triangle.

Here, the magic of the festive season is elevated by the serenity of the jungle, creating moments of connection, wonder and lasting memories.
