Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival: Now Accepting Orders for Lung King Heen and Four Seasons Mooncakes

This Mid-Autumn Festival, indulge in an enticing selection of coveted mooncakes from Michelin three-star Chinese restaurant Lung King Heen and Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong as a sign of respect to this celestial tradition. New Offerings from Lung King Heen

This year, as an alternative to classic lotus seed paste or custard fillings, Chinese Executive Chef Chan Yan Tak developed his own red bean paste with hazelnut recipe. Raw hazelnut is often bitter when eaten alone, so to bring out the wonderful nutty notes, Chef Tak pairs the hazelnut with sweetened red bean paste to perfectly balance the flavour. A bite of red bean mooncake reveals multiple textures: a soft and buttery outer pastry shell and a smooth red bean filling mixed with a crunch from crushed hazelnut.

Purchase the assorted mini mooncake box and enjoy both novel and classic flavours. The gift box includes six mooncakes and three flavours - white lotus seed paste with preserved egg and pickled ginger; five nuts and glazed ham; and the new sweetened bean paste with hazelnut. It is the perfect treat for those who want it all.

Not to be missed is the cream custard with toasted pine nuts mooncake, a sought-after delicacy created by Chef Tak since the Hotel opened.

All Lung King Heen mooncakes are handmade by the restaurant chefs and contain no preservatives. The cakes are elegantly presented in a gift box newly designed by the locally renowned Alan Chan.

Taking inspiration from Chef Tak and his team’s finesse in handcrafting mooncakes, Alan Chan Design created a package that looks and feels more handmade than manufactured. The natural earthy colour palette of the box conveys clean, understated chic. The compartments inside the box are adorned with sketches of Chinese clouds, mountain landscape and a festive poem to pay tribute to Mid-Autumn Festival. The contemporary design complements the purity of the cakes proving that indeed, less is more.
