Play on the Virtual Fairway: Four Seasons Hotel Houston Hits Hole-in-One with First-Ever Topgolf Simulators
Four Seasons Hotel Houston has partnered with Topgolf to bring a one-of-a-kind simulated golf experience to the downtown luxury destination as part of the Hotel’s highly anticipated re-launch, following a multi-million dollar renovation. The Topgolf Swing Suite is slated to debut in January 2017 just weeks before Houston hosts Super Bowl LI. This will be the first Topgolf-branded simulation experience of its kind anywhere in the world.
Located within the forthcoming Bayou & Bottle lobby bar, the Topgolf Swing Suite will perfectly complement the new bar concept with an added layer of excitement to Four Seasons Hotel Houston. Guests can expect an immersive and all-encompassing golf simulation experience that can be topped off with exceptional food and beverage service from Bayou & Bottle. The Topgolf Swing Suite includes two golf simulators – which can be sectioned off into two separate areas or rented out together – and can accommodate up to eight guests each.
The Topgolf Swing Suite is surrounded by lounge seating and HDTVs offering the ultimate spot for gatherings and events both medium and small. Whether looking to hone their skills for an upcoming 18-hole round or just "golfin’ off" with friends, players at Topgolf in the new lobby bar restaurant will be presented with an unrivalled simulation experience.
Celebrity Chef Richard Sandoval is making his Texas debut with Bayou & Bottle – a unique concept featuring an extensive bourbon program complete with “Bourbon Steward” along with flavourful cuisine and shareable plates inspired by Houston’s melting pot of cultures. The bar and restaurant will be unveiled in January 2017 as part of a multi-phase renovation that will transform the property into a self-contained urban resort, giving it the moniker "Houston’s Living Room" in the process. From the 4th floor Pool Deck and renovated Spa & Fitness Center to the acclaimed Italian outpost Quattro and its wine bar Vinoteca, the re-imagined Hotel will soon be the city’s premiere one-stop-stay-and-play destination.
Award-winning design boutique Meyer Davis was tapped to re-envision the 34-year-old Hotel’s new look, which includes the exterior façade and entire lobby area, bathed in natural light from three floors above with a grand central staircase serving as a dramatic centrepiece. The New York-based firm has become a definitive fixture in the design world, having overseen the new look of The Paramount in New York City – which earned a 2014 Golden Key Award by Boutique Design – in addition to other high-profile hospitality design projects such as Auberge Beach Residences, Le Meridian in New Orleans, W Chicago Lakeshore, 1 Hotel South Beach and the redo of the Regency Bar & Grill in New York.
With 30 venues serving 12.2 million visitors annually, Topgolf has exploded in popularity in recent years while expanding into new markets, and Four Seasons Hotel Houston is now bringing the concept directly to its guests.
“Bringing the Topgolf Swing Suite into downtown Houston allows us to entertain Hotel guests who may not be able to venture out to one of our three Houston-area venues near Katy, Spring and Webster,” said Topgolf National Director of Operations Scott McCurry. “The opening of Bayou & Bottle, coupled with the exceptional service for which Four Seasons is known, inspired us to partner and create this extraordinary new sports and entertainment experience.”
With its Four Seasons partnership, Topgolf will debut a new game experience designed for non-players and avid golfers alike to participate and work on both their long drive and short shots. The company also has plans in the works to incorporate lessons with one of its professional Topgolf U instructors that can be booked in advance. A specific lesson mode will be utilised to accumulate stats on the particular lesson.
“The Topgolf Swing Suite represents another milestone for Topgolf as we extend our brand beyond the four walls of our venues and inspire players to experience our games in captivating new ways,” McCurry said.
About Topgolf
"Whose ball went farther?” That simple question, asked out of age-old sibling rivalry, motivated twin brothers Steve and Dave Jolliffe to invent the world’s first microchipped golf ball. The ball was the genesis for Topgolf games in which players aim for giant dartboard-like targets on an outfield and get instant feedback on the accuracy and distance of their shots. Today, Topgolf is inspiring people of all ages and skill levels – even non-golfers – to come together for playful competition. Topgolf also brings interactive experiences to the community that facilitate shared moments and deep relationships through Topgolf U golf lessons, weekly leagues, The Topgolf Tour competition, KidZone parties, social and corporate team-building events, and the World Golf Tour (WGT) app. Each venue features high-tech, climate-controlled hitting bays for year-round comfort, delicious food and beverage, live events, music, hundreds of HDTVs and outstanding hospitality. With 30 venues entertaining 12.2 million Guests annually and the world’s largest digital golf audience, Topgolf is creating the best times of your life both in-venue and online.
