Wellness for Cancer Care Massage Launches This October at The Spa at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole
This October, The Spa at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole introduces the Wellness for Cancer Care Massage, specially designed to provide connective therapy for those touched by the effects of cancer and cancer treatment. A portion of the proceeds from every treatment sold will be donated to the Healing Touch program for cancer relief at St. John’s Health in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
“We are fortunate to have staff who care deeply about the community here in Jackson Hole,” says Spa Director Kimberly Jenkins. “The idea for this treatment came directly from our team, many of whom give their personal time to the local program. Our talented therapists are continually learning and improving their techniques, allowing them to truly customize this treatment for each guest.”
Each Wellness for Cancer Care Massage is tailored to the needs of the individual. The treatment creates a safe space for consultation, with certified staff members guiding guests to highly personalize every service. Included might be lymphatic support, easement of dry and radiated skin, or simply alleviating anxiety and fatigue. The treatment is offered in 60 or 90 minutes, at a cost beginning at USD 230, not inclusive of tax and gratuity.
Four Seasons has many therapists on property who underwent special training to perform the Wellness for Cancer Care service. Two therapists also are currently certified in Healing Touch and are actively volunteering at St John's Health to provide complimentary services to patients; several more therapists have plans to take the training. These services typically run for approximately 15 minutes and vary according to each patient’s needs.
“I saw an ad in the newspaper that the hospital was looking for volunteers to become trained on the program,” says Massage Therapist Ali Wasiutynski. “I have moved quite a bit in my life; when I arrived in Jackson Hole two years ago, I knew this was where I was meant to be. Community is very important to me, and this program is a ray of sunshine in my life, allowing me to give back to those most in need.”
The Healing Touch Program at St. John’s Health in Jackson Hole is a non-invasive energy work therapy that uses the body’s natural energy to promote healing. Hospital patients, including cancer treatment patients, are able to receive the treatment complimentary, and the program is used as a complement to standard medical care in hospitals around the world. Through donations to St John’s Health Foundation, the St. John’s local program is able to train more therapists to provide treatment, and help pay for facilitators and supplies needed to keep the program running.
