Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon has launched an innovative new city blog – the natural evolution of its insightful online guide, Lisbon Through Four Seasons Eyes, which launched in 2012.

Designed to get Hotel guests and city travellers to ‘turn the page’ on traditional printed guidebooks, the new blog offers a one-click solution with up-to-the-minute information, recommendations and trends, from the smoking hot to the effortlessly cool.

In addition to the highlights featured in the Hotel’s original city guide, continually updated new sections include: quirky Q&A profiles on local entrepreneurs and style icons; details on the hottest tickets in town; spotlights on new openings; links to like-minded Lisbon blogs, personal narratives and local adventures; plus inspiring lists of movies, books and music to help visitors get their Lisbon groove on before they travel.

“Our City Guide was a response to feeling jaded by all the out-of-date guidebooks that focused only on the tourist traps,” explains Diana Castello Branco, the Hotel’s Director of Public Relations. “The blog takes the guide to the next level. It’s an immersive and interactive one-stop-shop that reflects Lisbon’s eclecticism and dynamism, from sights to sounds, food to fashion, the boldly bohemian to the beautifully bizarre.”

Lisbon is the perfect juxtaposition of old-world charm and avant-garde chic, from hanging canary birdcages to haute couture boutiques. The blog aims to showcase the city’s energy and dynamism to visitors like never before, encouraging them to look past the cobbled alleyways and traditional tiled facades to discover a more eclectic ensemble of stories, styles and surprises.

“Lisbon is a city that dares to be different,” continues Diana. “We’re taking quite a bold step by peeling back the layers to reveal it in all its exuberant, unexpected glory – but it’s the only way to reflect the city’s constant evolution.”

Never ones to rest on their laurels, Diana and her team are already planning the rollout of the blog’s second phase, to include guest contributions and forums, real reviews and even more colourful commentary. “We want the blog to be entirely indicative of Lisbon,” concludes Diana. “A living, breathing work of art passionately painted by its people and places.”
