Four Seasons Hotel Madrid will commemorate its 5th Anniversary on September 25, 2025, celebrating five years since it opened its doors in the heart of the city. The hotel has been helping to consolidate Madrid as a first-class destination within the European luxury tourism sector ever since, playing an active role in boosting the international profile of this capital.

Opening the hotel, a part of the larger Centro Canalejas Madrid complex, required investment in the millions and eight years of meticulous renovation work on seven historic buildings, including the iconic Palacio de la Equitativa. Despite the global uncertainty at the time, the hotel opened its doors in September 2020 to offer authentic luxury, outstanding service and a design that combines history and contemporaneity.  Four Seasons Hotel Madrid has gone on to position itself as a major benchmark both nationwide and internationally thanks to the hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment of an extraordinary team that strives every day to offer excellence, a hallmark of this prestigious hotel chain.

“Five years ago, we opened our doors at one of the most uncertain times in recent history, in the middle of a global pandemic and based on our conviction that Madrid deserved a hotel like Four Seasons. We have since overcome challenges, grown alongside the city and helped position it as a first-class international destination. This anniversary celebrates that journey and reaffirms our commitment to excellence, innovation and our community,” says Alejandro Bernabé, General Manager and Regional Vice-President of Four Seasons Hotel Madrid.

Over the last five years, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid has earned more than 18 important national and international awards and prizes. This recognition has helped to consolidate the hotel—and Madrid—as a benchmark on the global tourism map, positioning the Spanish capital as the epicentre of sophistication, culture and hospitality of the highest level thanks to its offer. The awards earned by the hotel include Best New Hotel 2021 from Conde Nast Traveler Spain, #32 on The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024 (the only Spanish hotel included in this edition), renewal of the Five Star category for the hotel and Spa by the Forbes Travel Guide - Star Awards 2023, 2024 and 2025, two Michelin keys in the 2024 edition and inclusion on the T+L 500 in 2025 by Travel + Leisure magazine, among others.

The hotel has been a catalyst for luxury tourism given that the arrival of Four Seasons Hotel Madrid paved the way for the subsequent arrival of other major hotel chains, leading to a 44 percent increase in the number of five-star hotels in the city (25 before the pandemic and 36 afterwards) according to data from the Regional Government of Madrid.

“This anniversary not only celebrates past achievements but also looks to the future with a commitment to continue raising the bar for hospitality in Spain, connecting luxury and purpose, excellence and community,” concludes Alejandro Bernabé, General Manager and Regional Vice-President of Four Seasons Hotel Madrid.

To celebrate these last five years of history, the hotel has prepared a schedule of exclusive experiences for all to enjoy that include charity, gastronomic and wellness events especially for the 5th Anniversary.
