- El Patio, located in the lobby at Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, will offer an exclusive menu with bites inspired by the “Gastronomy” thematic tour at the National Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum to provide a taste of the history of art in the heart of the capital
- The partnership also includes a private guided tour of the museum behind closed doors

A unique experience that blends haute cuisine and art stems from a partnership between Four Seasons Hotel Madrid and the National Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. For the first time, these two institutions are partnering to offer a unique multi-sensory experience that connects some of the most iconic artworks in history on display at the museum with a culinary proposal created especially for the occasion.
El Patio, located in the elegant lobby of Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, will be the setting for this artistic and gastronomic experience that invites guests to taste the history of art via an exclusive four-course menu. Each dish has been carefully designed to reflect the works of art chosen for the thematic tour offered by the museum and entitled “Gastronomy,” offering a culinary reinterpretation of their colours, symbolisms and messages. Available from October 2025, the full experience begins at 9:00 am at the museum with a private guided tour behind closed doors. This is followed at the hotel by a carefully prepared gastronomy experience that is rich in history and available from 12:00 noon.
Four of the artworks to be discovered on the thematic tour have been chosen for this experience to create a menu consisting of four delicious bites inspired by them so that guests and local residents can taste and live art for themselves:
The first course of the experience is called Passion for Oysters, inspired by Oyster Eaters (1665-1669) by Jacob Lucasz Ochtervelt, a master of Dutch Baroque. One fresh oyster accompanied by pickled peach and coriander, paired with an elegant Bellini. This dish evokes sensuality, desire, and visual and tasting pleasure.
The Countess’s Carpaccio - Based on Young Knight in a Landscape (1505) by Vittore Carpaccio. Beef carpaccio with Palo Cortado vinaigrette, Dijon mustard and focaccia. Paired with an alcohol-free cocktail called Embargo. A homage to both European history and the Venetian artist lending his name to the dish.
Nedick’s Special - Inspired by Nedick’s (1970) by the photorealist painter Richard Estes. A hot dog style hamburger with relish and chips, accompanied by a one-of-kind drink based on orange juice inspired by the classic from the New York chain but reinterpreted by the team at the hotel for a more contemporary version. A wink to pop culture and the origins of fast food reinterpreted through the sophisticated lens of Four Seasons Hotel Madrid.
Apple Temptation - A sweet conclusion to the experience inspired by Adam and Eve (1507-1508) by Jan Gossaert. A delicious golden apple with a green apple and fresh basil interior prepared by the pastry team at the hotel led by María José Parra. Accompanied by a choice of coffee. A sweet reflection on desire, sin and beauty.
Since it opened, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid has consolidated its position as a space where art and elegance intertwine. With a private art collection carefully curated by Paloma Fernández-Iriondo consisting of nearly 1,500 pieces (paintings, sculptures and photographs), the hotel is a venue rich in history.
Meanwhile, the National Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum continues to innovate on ways to bring its valuable collection closer to the public by offering experiences that connect with new audiences through high-level partnerships.
- Date: Available from October 2025
- Price of the full experience for two people: EUR 840
- Bookings from both guests and customers not staying at the hotel can be made with the Concierge at Four Seasons Hotel Madrid
This partnership not only offers a new way to appreciate art but also an invitation to experience it with all the senses. It is the perfect choice for art enthusiasts, demanding travellers and those with an interest in gastronomy who are looking for unique experiences in the heart of Madrid.
About the National Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum
The National Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is a public institution that houses one of the most important pictorial collections in the world, with almost 900 works of art gathered over seven decades by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family. The Spanish State acquired the collection in 1993, one year after the museum opened to the public. Durero, Rafael, Tiziano, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Monet, Rénoir, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Morisot, Picasso, Hopper, Rothko… these are just some of the great names from the history of painting to be found in this collection, which is the result of efforts by two generations of collectors. The museum offers a journey through the history of western art from the XIII to the XX centuries and includes all the major western artistic movements, reflecting the taste of Baron Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza (1875-1947) and his son Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza (1921-2002). Since 2004, the foundation has also been exhibiting works on loan from the private collection of Baroness Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza.
