Presenting the Billionaire's Row Cocktail in the New Ty Bar at Four Seasons Hotel New York

An Old Fashioned is always in fashion when served with The Macallan Single Malt Scotch Whisky
May 4, 2015,
New York, U.S.A.

With the evolution of 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan and its new moniker "Billionaires Row" according to the Wall Street Journal, Four Seasons Hotel New York pays homage to its location’s latest claim to fame with a cocktail of all cocktails from The Macallan, served in a Lalique crystal Old Fashioned rocks glass to give a nod to The Macallan’s partnership with Lalique throughout the years.

A twist on the Old Fashioned, this cocktail features Colorado clover honey mixed with The Macallan and orange bitters, stirred to perfection and garnished with an orange peel.  Guests can select their favourite expression from The Macallan’s 18 Years Old, Rare Cask, 25 Years Old and the exclusive Macallan M.  Depending on the selection, the cocktail price ranges from USD 65 to 1,210 a glass.

“One normally thinks of drinking an Old Fashioned in the winter, but it is truly drinkable any time of the year, especially with my springtime favourite, The Macallan 18 year old expression, because of its lighter more delicate, brighter citrus and honey notes," says Craig Bridger, The Macallan’s brand ambassador. “The Billionaire’s Row Cocktail pairs perfectly with a selection of Ty Bar’s menu items such as the Korean tacos and the crispy duck pailletes.”

Ty Bar is the power gathering place to drink the new Billionaire’s Row Cocktail, with its unique, dramatic art deco design overlooking the IM Pei lobby.  Recently renovated, Ty Bar is home to one of New York City’s largest custom-designed LED video walls featuring a live feed showcasing the skylines of the city from a video cam located on top of the 52-story hotel.  Ty Bar is open Monday to Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 am and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 12:00 midnight.

About The Macallan

Founded in 1824 in the heart of Speyside, The Macallan was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to be legally licensed.  Since then it has built a reputation as one of the world’s leading single malt whiskies.  The creation of The Macallan draws on the vital contributing influences of Spain, North America and Scotland and of their respective natural raw materials, combined with traditional methods and craftsmanship.  From its founding through subsequent owners of The Macallan distillery in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and into the present century, The Macallan has been recognised for its outstanding quality above all else.
