At Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, summer is in full swing, and with it comes the launch of the vibrant Golden Summer Afternoon Tea at The Lounge. Beginning Monday, July 1, 2024, this delightful experience celebrates the season’s finest flavours, from the tropical zing of mangoes to the juicy allure of peaches, all set against the backdrop of Tokyo’s shimmering skyline.

In the serene ambiance of The Lounge, where sunlight dances through grand windows, the essence of summer is captured in a dazzling array of culinary delights. The chefs have crafted a menu that bursts with the vibrancy of the season, offering a deliciously refreshing escape from the heat.

The Golden Summer Afternoon Tea Experience

The selection of sweets features a tropical symphony that takes taste buds on a journey through summer's paradise. The Mango and Coconut Mousse, a delightful blend of mango and passion fruit enhanced with creamy coconut mousse, evokes the feeling of a sunny day on a tropical island. Meanwhile, the Peach Melba, with its juicy peaches paired with white wine jelly and lychee, brings a refreshing, sweet treat that’s perfect for warm afternoons.

The savoury side of the menu tells its own story of summer. The Teriyaki Sandwich combines pork ham with the sweet tang of pineapple, accompanied by cucumber and carrot rapees, offering a playful twist on classic flavours. The Pumpkin Flan, served with dashi sauce, winter melon, tomato jelly, yuzu pepper, and edamame puree, is a delicate dance of textures and tastes.

Lobster and Tapioca Coconut Mango Sago presents a luxurious blend with saffron fennel salad and kiwi dressing, while the Beef and Yellow Pepper Jelly with spinach and ginger sable delivers a robust flavour profile. The Grilled Corn Bavarois Tart, finished with chrysanthemum and soy sauce powder, adds a unique, savoury note to the afternoon tea.

A star of the show, the Mango Tart, showcases the rich flavour of Miyazaki mangoes, artfully arranged like flower petals and garnished with coconut marshmallows. Inside, the tart features a lush mango and passion fruit cream, topped generously with fresh mango, providing a luxurious tropical taste that is both refreshing and indulgent.
