Four Seasons Hotel Prague Supports Local Artist with a Pop-Up Exhibition of Contemporary Czech Painter Petra McGrath

Czech artist Petra McGrath is exhibiting a series of large-scale works entitled The Joy of Life at Four Seasons Hotel Prague. With the pop-up exhibition in the lobby and restaurant, the Hotel continues its active support of local art, with which it has been intrinsically linked since its opening more than 20 years ago.

“Our property is a mirror of the city’s rich cultural history and long artistic tradition. By supporting local artists, we are giving back to the community but also inviting our international guests to get immersed in exceptional Czech talent during their stay with us,” says Martin Dell, General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Prague.

Petra´s abstract interpretations meet figurative, vibrant compositions in colourful paintings that harmoniously depict her inner joy and unwavering energy as well as cultural signifiers of Europe and Australia, her two homes.

"The Joy of Life exhibition at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Prague is a dream come true for me. It is one of the most magical places in our country, a place of great overlap, an intersection of many people's life paths, design, architecture and excellence. The exhibition is a great opportunity for me to present my works not only in Prague, but to spread joy and positive energy further," says Petra McGrath about the exhibition.

The Hotel's extensive art collection ranges from old lithographs of Prague to Czech modernism in abstract paintings displayed in the presidential suite. The sculptures in the public areas are the work of leading Czech artists, including world-famous Olbram Zoubek, as are the magnificent glass works for which the republic is internationally renowned. The result is an appealing blend of the traditional and the contemporary that runs throughout the Hotel.
