Punta Mita Announces Guest Chef Line-Up for the American Express V Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic, April 30-May 3, 2015
For the fifth consecutive year, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, along with DINE, master developer of Punta Mita, and the Riviera Nayarit Conventions and Visitors Bureau will welcome a talented group of international and Mexico-based chefs and culinary experts for the American Express V Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic, taking place April 30 to May 3, 2015.
Spanning four days, the American Express V Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic is sure to be an elegant celebration that marries the best in food and wine, catering to even the most discerning palates. The revered gastronomic and golf experience will include world renowned chefs, epicurean experts, wine specialists, tequila masters and thrilling golf competition on Punta Mita’s two prestigious Jack Nicklaus signature courses.
The event will play host to a remarkable list of guest chefs invited by Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita and The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, including: Richard Sandoval, a global pioneer in contemporary Latin cuisine; Paco Ruano, chef at Alcalde Restaurant; Jonatán Gómez Luna, executive chef of Le Chique at Azul Sensatori Hotel by Karisma in Puerto Morelos; and José Manuel Baños of Pitiona in Oaxaca, México. Riviera Nayarit’s culinary ambassador Betty Vázquez will also take part. Additional chef participants include Michelin Starred Montse Estruch from El Cingle, Spain; Fernando Trocca from Sucre Restaurant in Argentina and Gaucho Restaurants UK; Abraham Salum from Komali; Andrew Ormsby from Andrew Ormsby Catering, USA; Felipe Donnelly, executive chef and owner of Soho’s favourite Comodo restaurant in New York City; Frank Castronovo & Frank Falcinelli, chefs and owners of the Frankies Spuntino restaurants in New York; Antonio de Livier, considered one of the top 20 chefs in Mexico and former anchor of 3 Minutes, a culinary show broadcast by Utilisima network; Oliver Deboise, executive chef of Tukipa restaurant at Imanta Resort Punta Mita; Thierry Blouet, chef and owner of Puerto Vallarta’s famous Café des Artistes; and Sylvain Desbois, executive chef of The St. Regis Mexico City.
Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita will host a series of culinary events and dinners set to transport guests through the rich regions of Mexico through authentic and local cuisine. Events will focus on five prime gastronomic centres of the country – Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, Estado de Mexico, Baja and Nayarit. Commencing the weekend with an opening cocktail reception at the newly unveiled beach club at Las Cuevas Beach, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita will offer an oyster and beer garden at the new beachfront shack bar, live food stations and cooking classes. Hosted by Aeromexico and Delta Airlines, the cocktail reception will be led by Executive Chef Philippe Piel and resort Chefs Héctor Leyva of Aramara, José Salas of Bahía and Ramón Bramasco of Ketsi.

The Caras Sports closing gala dinner will be hosted by The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort at the Sea Breeze Beach Club. Chef Fernando Trocca, Antonio de Livier & The Frankie Brothers along with the culinary team of The St Regis Punta Mita will host the closing dinner on the beach with a show kitchen, which promises to be both exciting and unique. During the closing night, a live auction will take place as to raise funds for Ayudar Es Posible, the foundation of former number one golfer Lorena Ochoa, featuring exclusive experiences, luxury products and overnight stays at different St. Regis and Four Seasons hotels and resorts worldwide.
In addition to a variety of diverse culinary experiences, guest can also enjoy a golf clinic led by former star athlete Lorena Ochoa, teeing off the two-day Punta Mita Cup on the Pacifico and Bahia courses, both of Jack Nicklaus’ Signature design.
The 2014 American Express Gourmet & Golf Classic attracted 420 participants, more than 18 chefs of premier culinary talent and raised more than USD 50,000 for acclaimed Mexican former professional golfer Lorena Ochoa’s foundation, which has benefited unprivileged children in Mexico via educational, self-stemmed and sporting programs.
