Kai Dieckmann Appointed as General Manager of Four Seasons Red Sea at Shura Island
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island announces the appointment of Kai Dieckmann as General Manager of the much-anticipated property that will set a new benchmark in regenerative luxury island tourism.
“It’s a once-in-a lifetime honour to welcome guests to discover a new property offering the finest in desert island luxury,” says Kai. “I am also delighted to have the privilege of shaping interest in this pristine emerging destination on the Red Sea that is gaining worldwide attention as a leader for regenerative luxury experiences.”
Originally from Bielefeld, Germany, Kai’s leadership expertise has taken him to the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia before being appointed to open the resort on Shura Island as part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 program for economic, cultural, and social diversification. The serene resort is situated on the longest stretch of beach on the island and features 149 rooms and suites along with 31 resort residences.
Designs for the property located on the most private area of the island’s eastern tip (about a 25-minute drive from the award-winning Red Sea International Airport) via a 1.2-kilometre (3/4 mile) overwater bridge are by renowned sustainable architecture firm Foster + Partners. Four Seasons guests will enjoy exclusive tee times at Shura Links—Saudi Arabia’s only championship island golf course—and can also have fun experiencing a broad range of cultural, land and marine activities, including diving among the world’s fourth largest coral reef, stargazing, or snorkelling to view some of the 200 species of marine life endemic to the area.
Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the secluded property will also feature three pools including an adults-only area, six restaurants, a spa with stone-clad hammam, a kids and teens’ activities club with programming, and a Marine Discovery Centre, in-line with the new ultra-luxury Island’s commitment to protecting and regenerating the nearby corals.
The entire island on Saudi Arabia’s western coast runs on renewable energy, while patrons of the soon-to-open Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island will be among the world’s first to experience the wonders of the Red Sea in a relaxed, barefoot and luxurious atmosphere among undulating dunes and clusters of chic accommodations inspired by ancient desert trade caravans.
