Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village Hosts Riders for Malibu Gran Fondo World-Class Cycling Event

Malibu Gran Fondo is a world-class cycling event in Malibu taking place on March 4 and 5, 2017, timed to take advantage of Southern California’s superb winter riding conditions. The event attracts riders from throughout the world who will cover 171 kilometres over two days.

The Malibu Gran Fondo cycling event showcases two different courses in a single weekend - each offering a unique terrain, vistas and challenges. Riders will traverse the rolling terrain of the beautiful Santa Monica mountains and national recreation areas therein. On the second day, cyclists will participate in a 20 kilometre time trial along the famed Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Participants will have the opportunity to ride in the Pro Experience Omnium format where two days’ rides are for cumulative time, or they may choose to ride either Saturday or Sunday as part of the more moderate, social experience.  

To complement the exciting weekend cycling event Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village will host various dining events for the participants and spectators of the Malibu Gran Fondo. On Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4, guests will have the opportunity to relax and socialise at an evening reception with wine and light bites. On Saturday, March 5 the Hotel features a post-ride Farmer’s Market Italian Lunch on the Garden Lawn featuring vegetarian, gluten-free, paleo and vegan options.

Guests looking to take advantage of their time in Southern California have the option of two Malibu Gran Fondo training camps.  The 5-Day Ride Camp is from February 28 to March 5, 2017 and includes overnight accommodations at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, event entry to the Malibu Gran Fondo, limited-edition custom Assos event jersey, daily rides in the Santa Monica mountains, daily breakfast, massages and two evening receptions. The 6-Day Women’s Performance Camp is from February 27 through March 5, 2017 and includes everything in the 5-Day Ride Camp plus coaching from top female pro coaches on and off the bike. The 5-Day Ride Camp is USD 2,150 and the 6-Day Women’s Performance Camp is USD 2,650.
