Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler Starts Meaningful Holiday Tradition for the Community in Support of BC Children's Hospital
The team at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler is extremely proud to announce a partnership with BC Children’s Hospital Foundation that will bring the first annual Whistler Festival of Trees to the Resort this holiday season. The Festival of Trees invites members of the community to unite for an important common cause – raising much-needed funds for BC Children’s Hospital while creating a lush forest of beautifully decorated trees for visitors to enjoy.
“We have been looking for continued opportunities beyond our commitment to the Terry Fox Foundation organisation and the Whistler Food Bank to give back to our community,” shares Four Seasons Resort Whistler General Manager Joerg Rodig. “BC Children's Hospital looks after children from all across BC, for a variety of health issues, such as accidents, illness and managing chronic conditions. Many of the families in our destination are connected to BC Children's Hospital and we are delighted to share that we will be launching a Festival of Trees supporting the urgent needs of the hospital this coming winter.“
The Festival of Trees has become a vibrant, feel-good, do-good holiday event in communities across British Columbia. This event transforms hotel lobbies across BC with brilliantly decorated tress. Event sponsors, which include local business organisations and individuals, have the honour of decorating these trees in a unique and exciting fashion. With annual events in destinations throughout Vancouver, the Okanagan and Vancouver Island, Whistler is an ideal complement to evolve this exciting holiday tradition further afield.
Resort guests, Whistler visitors and locals are invited to take part as a supporter or sponsor. The event offers sponsors an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate community leadership, show their creative talents and support child health, uniting the community of Whistler together over an important cause. Visitors are invited to browse through the holiday displays and donate to vote for their favourite trees. As it has in other communities, the hope is for the Whistler Festival of Trees to become a cherished holiday tradition and the unofficial kick-off to the holiday season in the Village.
Sponsors, guests and local media are invited to the tree-lighting ceremony on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 5:00 pm. Tree decorating for sponsors will take place earlier in the week. Join Four Seasons in the Lower Lobby Level to enjoy a festive holiday reception, viewing the trees and noshing on s’mores, cookies, mulled wine and hot cider.

About BC Children’s Hospital
BC Children’s Hospital is the province’s only full-service acute-care hospital dedicated to serving close to one million children living in BC and the Yukon. All children who are seriously ill or injured are referred to Children’s Hospital and are either treated at the hospital facility in Vancouver or, with consultation from Children’s specialists, in their home community. Last year, more than 84,000 children were treated at Children’s Hospital. Funds raised by BC Children’s Hospital Foundation are used to support BC Children’s Hospital, its research institute and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children.
