Join the Legacy: Honouring 45 Years of the Terry Fox Run This September at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler welcomes the local community and visitors alike to participate in Whistler's annual Terry Fox Run. Marking the 45th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run, the event supports the Terry Fox Foundation in its mission to raise funds for cancer research.

Registration opens at 9:00 am in the Resort’s courtyard, located at 4591 Blackcomb Way, followed by an invigorating warm-up led by a local fitness instructor. The run officially begins at 11:00 am, with two course options: a 3 km Fun Run and a 7 km Sports Run. Both routes loop through the serene, forested trails of Whistler toward Lost Lake before returning to the Resort, with breathtaking mountain views at every turn.

The day begins with some light bites and freshly brewed coffee, available by donation. After crossing the finish line, participants will be welcomed back for a celebratory Four Seasons lunch, a well-earned reward after an active morning.

The event continues with a silent auction, featuring prizes such as stays at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, along with dining and adventure vouchers for some of Whistler’s top restaurants and activities.

All proceeds from the event directly support the Terry Fox Foundation, funding breakthrough studies that improve the lives of patients and their families across Canada and beyond.

The Terry Fox Legacy

The Terry Fox Marathon of Hope began on April 12, 1980, when he set out to run across Canada after losing his leg to osteogenic sarcoma at just 18 years old. His original goal was to raise CAD 1 million for cancer research, but within weeks his goal was surpassed, raising to what amounted to one dollar from every Canadian at that time, a grand total of CAD 24 million. Over 143 days, Terry ran 5,370 kilometres (3,337 miles) before this cancer spread to his lungs, forcing him to stop.

Although Terry could not finish his journey, his vision sparked a movement that continues to this day. To date, the Terry Fox Foundation has raised more than CAD 900 million, inspiring communities worldwide and driving transformative progress in cancer research.
