Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler introduces The Memoir, a new cocktail program offered at Braidwood Tavern that invites guests to experience a deeply personal narrative through flavour, aroma and design. Inspired by the chapters of a life well lived, the menu reimagines cocktails as moments in time, from the innocence of childhood to the quiet reflection of maturity; each drink is thoughtfully composed to awaken memory and emotion.

Designed to mimic a cherished heirloom journal, The Memoir unfolds as a literary journey. Guests are encouraged to turn the page with each selection, discovering cocktails that reflect nostalgia, curiosity, independence and introspection. Calligraphy-inspired typography and sketch-like illustrations create an intimate narrative that turns the simple act of beverage consumption into an experience that engages all five senses.

The Memoir was developed in collaboration with acclaimed beverage consultant Nils Schabert, whose philosophy centres on crafting exceptional beverage experiences for decerning guests. Together with the bar team at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler, Schabert helped shape a menu that bridges innovative techniques with narrative expression, ensuring each cocktail captures both a sensory and emotional experience.

“At its heart, The Memoir is about connection, to our own stories and to the moments that shape us,” says Kenneth Nicholas, Director of Food and Beverage, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler. “Working in collaboration with Nils Schabert allowed us to elevate the concept into something deeply personal and poetic, where every drink becomes a chapter guests can return to again and again,” continues Kenneth.

“Cocktails have the power to unlock memories in an instant. With The Memoir, we wanted to create a menu that feels like reading a favourite book, familiar yet full of rediscovery, where each sip invites guests to reflect on moments they have lived and moments still to come,” adds Schabert.

Menu Highlights

Highlights from the menu include:

  • Hide and Seek, a light and floral expression of childhood wonder with tequila reposado, elderflower, pear and hibiscus, inspired by afternoons lost in laughter and imagination.
  • Cake for Breakfast, a playful tribute to rule-breaking mornings and sweet celebration, blending strawberry, cheesecake notes and yuzu foam.
  • High School Summer, a bright and effervescent mix of vodka, lime and coconut water, evoking sun-warmed days and carefree laughter.
  • One More Sunset, a rich and layered rye cocktail with cacao and passionfruit, recalling stolen evenings and the golden hush of dusk.
  • Miles in the Rearview, a contemplative gin-based cocktail with oceanic and savoury notes, reflecting journeys taken and horizons ahead.
  • Under the Old Tree, a bourbon-forward creation with hay-smoked honey and stone flower, inspired by forest mornings and grounding stillness.
  • Carried With Me, a gentle and nostalgic finale of toasted coconut, tonka bean and apricot, capturing the warmth of parting moments held close.

The program also includes zero-proof selections designed with the same narrative depth, such as Barefoot in the Grass, a bright and botanical blend inspired by dew-covered mornings, and Grandma’s Radio, a comforting combination of maple, citrus and zero-proof amaretto that recalls the familiar warmth of home.

With The Memoir, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler continues its commitment to exceptional dining and beverage experiences that celebrate craftsmanship, creativity and connection. This signature cocktail program reflects the Resort’s broader philosophy of light-hearted luxury, where every detail is designed to inspire discovery, encourage imagination, and create lasting memories.
