Born and raised in Tahiti, Samuel Fiu has been surrounded by music, dance, and tradition his entire life. As a Polynesian (his mother is from Bora Bora, his father from Marquesas Islands), the maohi culture he grew up with taught him everything from song and dance to traditional massage, weaving, and fishing. While his career initially began in the technology sector, Sam later found his true calling as a steward of the beautiful and rich Tahitian culture, and eventually as the Cultural Ambassador of Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora.

After graduating high school in Bora Bora with a focus on science and technology, Sam studied English at university in Tahiti, and later studied English and Pacific languages in Auckland, New Zealand, as well as first aid. Throughout his studies, he also taught English and French.

Sam’s career began as a computer technician, though his personable nature soon drew him to hospitality, where he could spread his warmth and hospitable nature. Over the next eight years, Sam worked in various hospitality roles in Bora Bora, including as a tour guide, at the Town Hall, as a hotel receptionist, and as a concierge. In 2019, Sam joined the team at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora as a PBX Agent, before taking on his current role in early 2023. As Cultural Ambassador, he oversees all cultural programming, from song and dance performances to cultural classes, exhibitions, and more.

Samuel speaks English, Tahitian, French, and Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, singing with his wife Heimata, and enjoying precious time with his daughter Heimoe.
