For Goeun Lee, hospitality has always been about people. From the front desk to the boardroom, she has built a 25-year career around creating meaningful experiences for guests and nurturing high-performing teams.

Now Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, Goeun brings a rare blend of operational expertise, people leadership and genuine care. Warm, empathetic and results-driven, she believes the best hospitality starts with making people feel valued.

Her own journey began in Front Office at Sheraton Boston, before taking her back to Korea. Over the next 12 years, she built a strong foundation in luxury hospitality across Grand Hyatt Seoul, Grand Hyatt Incheon and Park Hyatt Seoul. She played key roles in the openings of Grand Hyatt Incheon and Park Hyatt Seoul, sharpening her skill for creating strong teams and delivering seamless guest experiences from the outset.

In 2015, Goeun joined Four Seasons Hotel Seoul shortly after its opening as Learning Manager. Her passion for excellence soon led her into operational leadership as Director of Rooms, from where she helped guide the hotel towards its first Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star recognition. The achievement was retained for six consecutive years, reflecting a deep commitment to outstanding service.

Becoming Director of People & Culture at Four Seasons Seoul was a natural progression for a leader whose greatest strength has always been understanding people. When the pandemic transformed hospitality, Goeun focused on keeping her teams connected, resilient and supported. Employee engagement reached a ten-year high, while staff turnover was reduced by 50 percent.

Yet numbers tell only part of Goeun’s story. Colleagues remember her ability to listen, connect and bring out the best in those around her. For Goeun, leadership is about “creating an environment where people can thrive”.

After almost a decade with Four Seasons Seoul, she took time to focus on family before joining Haevichi Hotel & Resort as General Manager. During her time on Jeju Island, she deepened her understanding of resort life and the distinctive rhythm of island hospitality.

Now, Goeun returns to Four Seasons and to a country that has held a special place in her heart since her youth. She attended Surabaya Intercultural School and has long considered Indonesia a second home. “Bali feels like a particularly meaningful place for a new chapter,” she says. “Its warmth, openness and strong sense of community resonate deeply.”

At Jimbaran Bay, Goeun’s people-first philosophy meets a heart-led haven where Balinese culture and genuine connection are woven into everyday life. Her focus here is simple: exceptional experiences for guests and an inspiring environment for the people who create them.

Away from the resort, family remains at the heart of Goeun’s world. She looks forward to exploring Bali with her daughters, Leah and Yuna, when they visit.

After 25 remarkable years in hospitality, Bali is both a homecoming for Goeun – and the promise of a thrilling new adventure.
